0.9.3 — Terminal keyboard and form fixes

2026-10-02.

• Terminal keyboard handling: Android adaptive terminals resize to the visible area, with corrected cursor and input-anchor positioning. Shortcut keys stay above the keyboard and leave room for the input line when expanded.
• Accessible form closing: add/edit host forms have a top-right close button that remains available while scrolling. Clicking outside the form preserves entered values.
• Mobile terminal font: Android/iOS default to size 6, preserving saved custom sizes.
• Version alignment: iOS is maintained at 0.9.3, without an iOS package upload.
• Manual installation: download and install this release yourself. Announcement only; no upgrade prompts or forced updates.

0.9.2 — Linux and Windows ARM64

2026-10-02. Four platforms, ten packages; no iOS upload.

• Linux desktop client: x86_64 and ARM64 deb/AppImage packages, sharing desktop hosts, SSH/Agent, persistent terminals, RDP/DVC, monitoring, files, AI, proxies, port forwarding and broadcasts.
• Native Windows ARM64: NSIS and Portable packages, validated under an ordinary user on Windows 11 ARM64. Remote Windows management components remain x64.
• Older Windows terminals: the bundled psmux adds a WinPTY backend for Server 2016 without ConPTY. Modern Windows keeps ConPTY. Management components use the static CRT to reduce runtime dependencies on clean systems.
• Reliability fixes: host edit/delete waits, Windows domain connections, file-overwrite permission cleanup and Linux legacy-database migration.
• Cleaner announcements: sync-operation messages are removed from the announcement dialog; Cloud sync remains available.
• Manual installation: announced through notices, without upgrade prompts or forced updates.

0.9.1 — Address detection and embedded Windows Setup export

2026-09-30. Windows x64 NSIS/Portable, Apple Silicon Mac arm64 DMG and Android arm64 APK. Notices and manual downloads only; no upgrade prompt or forced update. No iOS release; the Linux client stays frozen.

Added:

• Enter an IPv4 address or domain directly with automatic detection and a separate port; the address-type selector is removed. Existing IPv6 hosts remain compatible.
• Embedded Windows management Setup ZIP with offline export in DVC, missing-component and maintenance flows; Android also offers system sharing. RDP-only hides the card. No host/credential is exported and the client never runs the EXE.
• Component version 0.9.1; ZIP size 13,308,604 bytes. Setup and Agent/psmux maintenance keep the same verified source.

Fixed and verified:

• Existing Setup conflicts remain fail-closed. Portable instructions require backing up the old EXE/Setup while preserving data. Windows ordinary-user manual upgrades and data retention passed.
• Mac arm64/version/ad-hoc signature/DMG mounting and unique embedded-resource checks passed. No notarization, automatic-update or minimum-OS/every-model claim is made.
• Android keeps the 0.9.0 signer; replacement, startup, retained settings and system export/share are verified in Android SDK Emulator. This does not claim a physical phone or recipient delivery.
• Earlier Android signer limitations remain. Uninstalling clears local AI history/memory; preserve data first. 0.9.0 does not require uninstalling.

0.9.0 — Three clients; manual installation required

Download and install 0.9.0 manually. Automatic updates from older versions are unavailable.

Platforms: Windows x64 (NSIS and portable ZIP), Apple Silicon Mac arm64 (DMG), and Android arm64 (APK). iOS is not uploaded; the Linux client remains frozen.

Added and improved:

• Apple Silicon Mac client and DMG distribution with shared runtime and desktop capabilities.
• IPv4/Domain host selection with separate ports; domains can resolve to IPv6, and existing IPv6 hosts remain usable.
• Official or self-hosted Creation Cloud selection, with isolated login, sync and update sources.
• Manual Windows server Setup and Windows-account onboarding; automatic installation/OCR removed.
• Windows Agent persistent terminals through Terminal2/psmux, with standard OpenSSH retained.
• Fixes for global/project/host AI-history scope, terminal input, RDP logon readiness, host refresh, system information and shared migration.

Verified:

• Windows test VM: installation, startup, uninstallation and manual 0.8.8-to-0.9.0 upgrade with data retained.
• Mac: arm64 build, mounted DMG, version and ad-hoc signature integrity.
• Android: package checks and same-signer test-build upgrade, startup and data preservation in SDK Emulator; not an older-official-signature or physical-phone claim.

Installation notes:

• Android has a new signature and cannot replace an older official build directly. Uninstalling removes local data; Cloud excludes AI conversations and memory. Keep the old app if needed data is not safely preserved.
• Mac is M-series only, targets macOS13+, is ad-hoc signed/not notarized and has no automatic updater.
• Windows installers have no Authenticode signature and require WebView2 Runtime.
• No automatic update to this release is offered to older clients; use the official manual downloads.

This update publishes documentation and screenshots only. No new binaries, existing assets or automatic-update policies have been changed.

• Current interface screenshots use a demonstration host; the progress image is a state replay.

• Cloud data-protection pages on Windows and Android now use explicit loading, ready, and error states. Legacy-envelope migration, first-time setup, change, reset, and retry actions follow the authoritative server state.
• 0.8.8 is the first Windows release under updater trust-root epoch 2. Windows users on 0.8.7 or earlier must install 0.8.8 manually once; automatic updates resume afterward. Android is unaffected.
• Starting with this release, Windows publishes only NSIS and portable ZIP. Historical MSI assets remain immutable records of older releases.

Fixed

• Fixed correct passwords being rejected before actual verification in legacy-envelope state, manual sync remaining stuck on loading, change/reset actions being hidden, and stale previews after Cloud state changes.
• Fixed revoked login sessions remaining visible with disabled delete buttons and the notification center failing to select its first account-only notification.

Verified

• Windows NSIS and Portable passed formal install, exit, uninstall-with-data-retention, user-initiated 0.8.7 → 0.8.8 upgrade, and full cleanup gates. The two-device production Cloud data-protection and Host+AI manual-sync path also passed.
• Android x86_64 on MuMu passed the affected Cloud data-protection, Host+AI manual-sync, Reset local-retention, and cleanup path. Static and real-browser theme checks passed.
• The production arm64 APK passed 0.8.8 / 8000008, SDK 24/36, arm64-only ABI, non-debug, v2 single-signer, and four embedded Agent/tmux resource checks. This is not presented as physical-arm64 acceptance.

• At startup, clients obtain announcements, version details, downloads, and update policy from one Creation Cloud response. Announcements use one modal with Normal, Important, or Critical priority.
• Administrators can retire selected old versions or force them to a selected stable release. Policy can compare only the version or also verify the current installed-file SHA-256.
• Windows downloads, verifies, safely exits, replaces, and restarts automatically. Android updates through the system installer and shows OS confirmation only when required.
• Schema 12→15 uses Copy-on-Migrate: only a database copy is migrated; hosts, credentials, known_hosts, groups, snippets, AI/Cloud data, and required settings remain intact, while failure leaves the original database unchanged.
• Creation-Log uses an independent diagnostics database and is off by default. Collection starts only after the user enables it, and the database is not created or opened while disabled.

Verified

• Windows NSIS, MSI, and Portable each passed the formal install/replace/restart, data-retention, and cleanup gates.
• Android passed the existing real-app, real-SSH, Agent, UI, SQLite, and arm64 artifact gates. We do not present an x86_64 emulator's inability to run the arm64 bootstrap as a passed automatic-update test.
• All four production assets were checked by version, filename, size, and SHA256. Windows updater signatures are carried as Creation Cloud metadata and do not add public assets.

Added And Changed

• Cloud data protection now uses one random account data-key envelope. The protection password is used transiently only for setup, change, known-password reset, upload, download, and explicit recovery. Startup, local SSH, AI, and ordinary use no longer ask for it.
• Windows and Android share schema 12, transparent local device wrapping, and the same manual-sync contract. A password change rewraps the same account data key without re-encrypting Host/AI business ciphertext.
• Adding a host must first complete real SSH negotiation, host-key verification, and authentication using the frozen address, port, user, and credential. Only then are the host, mode, credential, and trust committed atomically; failure writes nothing.
• Deleting a host stops local activity and atomically removes local host, credential, trust, and related state. It does not connect through Agent/SSH or remove a remote agent, authorized key, tmux session, or server data.
• Android restores the AI tool-loop limit in the parameter sheet, with a 1..=200 range, a default of 30, local SQLite persistence, and cold-start restoration.
• All four Windows agent/tmux resources are embedded in the EXE. Install directories no longer contain a resources folder or runtime DLL, and the portable ZIP contains a single EXE.

Fixed

• Fixed Cloud registration failures when the UI language was Traditional Chinese or another locale outside zh-CN/en, and separated deterministic 4xx responses from service-unavailable errors.
• Fixed the Android tool-loop value reverting to its default after force-stop.
• Fixed hosts being stored before SSH connection/authentication succeeded, and fixed ordinary deletion attempting remote cleanup.

Verified

• Windows production background clicks: an unreachable SSH target remained 0→0; a controlled SSH fixture produced one connect and one authentication before 0→1; final deletion produced 1→0 with SSH events remaining 0→0, and the user's local key was unchanged.
• Android MuMu background clicks proved that an unreachable host is not stored and that a tool-loop value of 200 remains 200 after force-stop and cold start.
• Production Creation Cloud 0046 cross-device verification covered Windows Host+AI upload, Android download, password change, Windows reconciliation with the new password, and reset clearing Cloud data while preserving Android-local Host+AI data.
• All four assets were checked by version, filename, and SHA256. Windows embedded-resource gates, Android arm64 ABI/v2 single-signer checks, and zero AAB all passed.

Windows Data Protection

• The singleton vault record in the current data database becomes the data-protection authority for that copy. A fresh directory or an EXE copied without its data creates a new unconfigured instance and does not inherit another program copy's password.
• A complete copy of protected data retains the original instance and password requirement. The database stores only master-key material wrapped by DPAPI or a password KEK plus required parameters, never the data-protection password, a plaintext master key, or automatic-unlock material.
• The ordinary WebView2 profile uses the system application-data location. Business SQLite, known_hosts, local AI/Cloud state, logs, and transfer temporaries remain under the adjacent data directory.

Three-Scope AI And Memory

• The AI assistant has fixed Global, Project, and Host scopes, independent from View, Edit, and Full Access permissions.
• Ordinary summaries use the shared ScopeCognitionSnapshot: Global recalls bounded, relevant cognition from visible projects and hosts, Project covers the current project and member hosts, and Host covers only itself. One run reuses one snapshot instead of rereading every conversation.
• Canonical raw events remain the sole source of truth. Ordinary summaries do not register full-conversation catalog/body tools. Only an explicit Windows exact-evidence request can read bounded original evidence within current visibility.
• The Android three-scope shell reuses the same shared cognition business layer. Ordinary mobile runs keep exact evidence disabled and retain the existing scope, owner, history, and replay gates.

Interface And Messages

• Windows adds the gray-white Frost theme while retaining glass depth, dark-gray text, and danger red. Theme choice persists locally and synchronizes across windows.
• The Host status rail retains all nine metrics in a tighter wide-window layout and still collapses to the existing button/popover on narrow windows. Latency comes only from real Agent metrics requests or SSH channel round trips; unknown values show — and are never estimated by the frontend.
• Windows assistant text uses the full chat width. Both Windows and Android restore and display user images from persisted messages. Images accept only local base64 image data URLs, with single and multiple images adapted to desktop and narrow-screen layouts.

Verification And Security Notice

• All four assets use the same release version and have been checked by filename and SHA256. There are no other production artifacts for Windows or Android.
• The Windows NSIS and MSI packages are not Authenticode-signed. SmartScreen may show Unknown Publisher or require an extra confirmation; download from this repository's Release and verify SHA256.
• Android v0.7.6 creates only fresh schema 10 and does not open or migrate schema 9. When the installation generation changes, the previous local database and its hosts, settings, credential references, and AI data are not retained.

Added And Changed

• Before Tauri/runtime initialization, Windows makes the real <EXE directory>\data the sole data and state root. SQLite, known_hosts, local AI/Cloud files, logs, WebView2 data, and transfer temporaries no longer scatter across AppData, the working directory, or the system temporary directory.
• The Windows master key, Cloud session, and automatic-unlock material remain in Credential Manager instead of being downgraded to ordinary files for the adjacent-data layout.
• File drag-out sessions and download recovery are more robust. Recovery after interruption remains guarded by destination identity, chunk integrity, and atomic adoption.
• For Issue #41, terminal right-click shows Copy and restores focus only when xterm currently has a selection. With no selection, the client does not intercept the event, leaving it to the remote TUI or mouse mode.

AI Reliability

• Provably transient network, connection, read-timeout, and 408/429/500/502/503/504 failures wait a fixed five seconds after each failure and retry at most five times. Only read-only, idempotent Agent/SSH reads may be replayed automatically.
• Writes, edits, commands, terminals, and other requests are never replayed automatically once they may have been delivered. They return an unknown outcome and retain the recovery gate instead of risking duplicate side effects.
• Each retry schedule is persisted before it is shown. Stop can cancel the wait, and the final error reports the failure category and whether retries were exhausted.

Screenshot Evidence Boundary

• Refreshed eight Windows and five Android public product screenshots. Every image uses RFC 5737, example.com, and explicitly labeled simulated data; none connected to a real host, Cloud, or AI provider.
• All 13 screenshots passed per-image visual and redaction review. Android screenshots came from an x86_64 emulator test UI; these images are not evidence of physical-arm64 acceptance or complete manual GUI coverage.

Added

• Manual Cloud sync now covers hosts and credentials, AI provider accounts, Key/Token values, API endpoints, and model bindings. Trusted clients encrypt secrets with the data-protection password; Creation Cloud stores only opaque ciphertext.
• Sync first compares local and Cloud changes, then lets the user explicitly choose upload or download per resource. Host rows show IP:port to distinguish similarly named machines.
• Added a stable /admin entry for the management console.

Fixed

• Removed the persistent conflict area and conflict resources. A two-sided change is resolved directly in the normal change list while the backend continues enforcing revision, generation, local change-token, and digest checks.
• Fixed sync_resync_required being presented as a legacy data-clear flow. It now re-verifies data protection and checks changes again without clearing local business data.
• Explicitly kept AI conversations, attachments, tool results, usage, raw events, tasks, memories, and vectors local and outside Cloud sync.

Verified

• Windows NSIS, MSI, and portable ZIP passed production install, launch, exit, uninstall, isolated-WebView2, and cleanup gates. The NSIS and MSI artifacts are currently unsigned.
• The signed Android 0.7.4/7000004 arm64 production APK passed real-host, real AI-provider read-only tool, and encrypted Host+AI sync verification. The x86_64 MuMu test package is not a release asset.
• Creation Cloud passed Host+AI, generation, rekey, reset, concurrency, and backup-restore gates. Deployment and tests did not modify user business data.

• Android terminal display controls now include fit, fixed 80x24, and custom sizes, plus a 1-24px font range. Fixed/custom modes support two-dimensional canvas browsing, and size, font, and scrolling preferences are restored after restart.
• Android adds an on-demand shortcut overlay for Esc, Tab, Ctrl, arrow keys, and - without permanently shrinking the terminal. Copy uses the selection first, falls back to visible terminal content, and writes to the system clipboard.
• Android now offers system, light, and dark themes. System mode follows the device theme automatically, and the preference is stored in local SQLite and restored after restart.
• Windows and Linux use the system Save As dialog for file or directory downloads, while Android uses the Storage Access Framework (SAF) system document picker. Canceling does not start a connection or download; chosen destinations retain resume support and integrity verification.
• SSH connections now have clear staged 8-second failure boundaries for DNS resolution, TCP connection, SSH handshake, and authentication. A failed or timed-out stage returns immediately instead of repeating the wait with another credential.
• When no password is entered explicitly and the stored private key is explicitly rejected, the client can try the encrypted-vault password within the same SSH session. After authentication succeeds, it continues public-key repair to reduce future password prompts.

Fixed

• Fixed fresh local databases sometimes reporting database is locked when multiple pages or background tasks initialized at once. AI, files, monitoring, host data, and preferences can now open and recover reliably from the same SQLite database.
• Fixed installed-but-stopped firewalld being reported as a query failure. The client now shows it as not running, keeps port actions disabled, and never starts or installs the firewall on its own.
• Fixed offline hosts retaining an old green status. Online state now comes from the current real connection result, while historical metrics are shown only as stale data.
• A failure in one feature channel no longer disconnects a healthy shared SSH transport. Reconnection occurs only after the connection is confirmed lost, and mutating operations that may already have arrived are not replayed automatically.
• Host-key trust now stops safely when its record cannot be read, parsed, or saved. The error is not treated as a first connection, the current session is not delivered, and no other credential path is attempted.
• Before deleting a host or reinstalling, C-SSH verifies that the related service, process, persistent session, data, and public key belong to C-SSH. If any resource cannot be verified, it stops and preserves the current state instead of touching another service, session, or key.
• Dangerous systemd directives are audited with legal whitespace syntax, while an unprovable leftover tmux socket is preserved with an explicit repair error instead of being deleted automatically.
• Older leftovers that are confirmed to belong to C-SSH can now be recovered safely into a reinstallable state. Local host and credential records remain available for retry when remote cleanup is incomplete, while foreign or unknown resources always remain unchanged.
