yetone 2da8fbe488 tests: every test that runs plugins on the bun on PATH runs it once first, through testenv.Bun, so a bun that has never run here doesn't time out internal/provider's and internal/plugin's plugin tests (#1306)
65dcc573 (ggbdpq's patch 1) warmed the bun on PATH before the root
package's one-minute plugin contexts. The same lookup of the bun on PATH
is in 40 more places in internal/provider (28), internal/gateway (8),
internal/plugin (3) and internal/gui (1), and in the root package's
TestPluginListSaysClash. Many of them then open a one- or two-minute
context (internal/provider's sign-in, fetch and move tests,
internal/plugin's sandbox), and there macOS's first-exec check of a
just-installed or upgraded bun landed inside the deadline. The rest
are covered the same way, so no test has to remember which is which.

testenv.Bun now does what the root package's pathBun did: it finds the
bun on PATH (skipping the test when there is none) and runs
`bun --version` before the test opens its context, once per bun per test
binary. pathBun is gone; every `exec.LookPath("bun")` + skip block in
the tests uses testenv.Bun instead. Three tests reach for the bun some
other way and are left as they were: TestHostRunsAsMagpieBun (7ddea2c2
covers its copy), the plugin_git test's realBun and netproxy's
TestBunThroughBridge, none of which runs the plugin host under a
deadline on the PATH bun. migrate_test.go needed two `err` declarations
that the removed block used to provide.

What was run (macOS arm64, bun 1.4.2), with a wrapper bun first on PATH
whose first exec sleeps 61s (marker-gated, then execs the real bun):
- Red, old code:
  - internal/provider TestPluginSignInTakesAPastedCallback: FAIL at
    61.1s, "pluginsignin_paste_test.go:36: starting plugins: context
    deadline exceeded".
  - internal/plugin TestFakePlugin: FAIL at 62.0s, "plugin_test.go:66:
    Plugins = [], starting plugins: context deadline exceeded".
  - internal/gateway TestPluginFailover passed on the old code too (its
    calls have no deadline that short), so the gateway is not shown red.
- Green, this change, same cold wrapper: the three tests passed (61.1s,
  62.9s, 61.2s).
- go test -tags nogui -count=1 for the root package and for
  internal/testenv, gateway, gui, plugin and provider, under a temp HOME
  with GOMODCACHE, GOCACHE and GOPATH pinned: all ok.
- gofmt -l on the changed files: clean. go vet of those packages for
  darwin (-tags nogui), GOOS=linux and GOOS=windows (-tags nogui), and
  GOOS=windows without the tag: clean.

Not run: a really cold bun on a loaded machine; the sleep stands in for
the check. Not run on Linux or Windows, where the warm-up is one extra
`bun --version` per test binary.

yetone 395c4bc51e tests: a test that sets time.Local does it through testenv.Zone, which first waits out the stand-ins' first runs — their os.Stat reads time.Local, and TestDsh -race alone raced it every run
testenv.StandIns (06420a71) starts each stand-in once in the background on
macOS and records it with os.Stat, which reads time.Local. internal/
sessions' inZone, internal/usage's TestDayFilterDST and the root package's
sessions CLI setup assigned time.Local while those runs could still be
under way. `go test -race -run '^TestDsh$' ./internal/sessions` reported
the race 6 of 6 runs on main (stats_test.go:14 against program.go:140).

testenv.Zone(t, loc) waits on the same WaitGroup RemovePrograms waits on,
sets time.Local and restores it in a Cleanup; the three helpers use it.
The root setup registers Zone before its own Cleanup, so the zone still
goes back after sessions.Reset's index write, as before.

After: the same command 0 races in 6 runs; -race -count=20 of
Dsh|DST over sessions and usage, -race -count=3 of the root Sessions
tests, -race of sessions/testenv/usage/root, go vet, gofmt pass. Tests only.

yetone 06420a7121 tests: a fake program is a file macOS has already let run (testenv.Program), so a fake's first start no longer eats a test's wait under load
macOS checks a newly written executable before its first exec: 0.27s
alone, 2-5s while other new programs start (a go test ./... starting its
test binaries). The same file again takes 0.009s, and the pass is kept
across a rename and an in-place rewrite. 108852b4 worked round this for one
test with /bin/sh -c; the class was every test that writes a `#!/bin/sh`
fake and times its answer.

testenv.Program(t, path, script) replaces os.WriteFile(path, script, 0o755)
for fakes. On macOS it renames a file that has run once from a pool to path
and writes the script into it in place; at the test's cleanup the file goes
back to the pool (only a path the test created; a stand-in it wrote over
stays). Fakes still end with their tests: nothing about how they are
started or waited on changed. Run (and gateway's TestMain) remove the pool
at the end. TestMain's PATH stand-ins are run once in the background
(testenv.StandIns). Other systems write the file as before.

Converted every `#!/bin/sh` fake written by tests under internal/ (agent,
gateway, gui, library, plugin, proc, provider, update). Windows, binary
and node/bun fakes are unchanged.

Under the same load (3 loops each starting 8 freshly written scripts at a
time), 4 rounds each, before (108852b4 / origin/main) vs after:
- provider TestSavedButSignedOutClaudeServed: 4/4 fail (8.01s) -> 4/4 pass
- provider TestClaudeSignInOverStaleCredentials: 4/4 fail (5.00s) -> 4/4 pass
- provider TestDevinSignedInOnlyInMagpie: 3/4 fail ("CLI's own []") -> 4/4 pass
- gateway TestClaudeRunEndsWhenTheClientLeaves: 4/4 fail -> 4/4 pass
  (and 3/3 fail -> 3/3 pass at a third of that load)
- gateway TestClientGoneRecordedAsCanceled: 4/4 fail -> 4/4 pass
- gui TestProvidersAnswerWhileListsComeIn ("cursor found false" at 3.03s):
  4/4 fail -> 4/4 pass. The same class, not bfe8bcaf's test order.
- proc TestUserPath (login shell's PATH never came, 7.01s): 4/4 fail ->
  4/4 pass
Unloaded, every touched package passes; no pool directory or process is
left after a run.

yetone a8d798e2cb gateway, provider tests: the tests stay off the network (testenv.Offline in their TestMains) — after 555f5706 (#1016) routing reads a plan key's quota windows, and a test whose provider has a vendor's real base URL and a made-up key would ask the vendor in the background. Routing's own read (keyAllowance, allowances) was already stubbed in routing_test.go's init, and a survey with a dial guard found no plan-key dial, but it found others: every plugin host's first start fetched models.dev's catalog (65 dials in the gateway's plugin tests), and provider tests asked api.github.com (TestSubscriptionUsageEachAccount, TestSubscriptionUsageServesStale), chatgpt.com (TestCopilotQuotaWithoutEditorsSignIn), server.codeium.com (TestDevinSignedInOnlyInMagpie) and decide.test (TestModelTest) with made-up accounts; each passed whether the vendor answered or not. internal/testenv's Offline wraps http.DefaultTransport's DialContext (so http.DefaultClient and every transport cloned from it later): localhost, *.localhost, loopback and unspecified addresses are dialled, anything else is refused before it is looked up, said once per address on stderr ("testenv: a test asked models.dev:443, refused: tests stay off the network"). internal/gateway's TestMain and internal/provider's (kiro_main_test.go, in RunIn's setup) call it before the tests run. TestLocal (the address table) and TestOffline (a loopback httptest server answers through DefaultClient; models.dev is refused through it and through a Clone made after the call) pass -race -count=3. go test -race -tags nogui -timeout 30m ./internal/testenv ./internal/provider ./internal/gateway passes under a temp HOME (gateway 516 s). The gateway and provider test binaries were then run under sandbox-exec with every non-loopback network-outbound denied, with the kernel's Sandbox reports streamed: both PASS, Offline refused only the six addresses above, and the kernel reported no denial, so no transport outside DefaultTransport reaches the network either. go vet, gofmt -l, linux and windows (nogui) builds pass. Tests only. 2026-10-06 21:08:57 +08:00
tobitege 21702d01ff Add German translation; harden paths against unset env vars (#770)
* Add German translation and harden paths against unset env vars

Add a German locale to the GUI, tray menu, usage alerts and website home page, and refuse to start when the home folder is unset or relative so nothing is written under the working folder; the pi plugin no longer adopts the user's PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR, and an inherited APPIMAGE no longer selects portable mode. Scripts refuse to run from the wrong folder or empty a shared out folder, and a new internal/testenv sandboxes every test package from the user's real files, which also fixes the Claude picker and Termux installer tests on Windows.

* Makefile: know magpie's folder by its go.mod, so paths with spaces work

The check compared $(CURDIR) with $(dir $(abspath …)), which make splits on spaces, so a checkout under 'My Projects' or 'John Doe' refused every target. It now reads go.mod relative to the working folder and wants magpie's module there: make -C and a symlinked Makefile work, make -f from another folder still stops before any recipe runs.

* i18n: German for the strings main added since, with a parity test

75 strings main added (group order, patterns, slow-start wait, usage caps, RTK savings …) get their German, and two that main dropped go. gui-de.test.cjs checks, as gui-ja does, that de has every zh string with its placeholders and tags, and that the window reads in German when picked or on a German system.

* appdir: ignore relative folder variables when reading, keep them for children

CheckEnv no longer unsets anything. magpie reads the XDG folders, APPDATA/LOCALAPPDATA and every agent's folder variable through appdir.Getenv/LookupEnv, which pass over a relative value; the environment stays as it is, so the agents magpie starts get the variable as the user set it. That covers what proc.UserPath lends from the login shell too, which is set after main's check and reached the desktop app unchecked. On Windows a path rooted on the current drive (\Users\x, Git Bash's /c/x) counts as usable, and magpie version and help answer without a home, before run makes any folder.

* Sandbox the tests main added since

internal/wslrun gets testenv's TestMain, and four tests main added that set HOME alone set their home with testenv.SetHome, so on Windows they don't read the runner's profile through USERPROFILE.

* agentenv: PI_CONFIG_DIR and OPENCODE_DB take relative names on purpose

omp puts $PI_CONFIG_DIR under the home and OpenCode a relative $OPENCODE_DB in its data folder, so neither depends on the working folder: appdir no longer passes them over.

* i18n: German for the Library's multi-select and System One's decision API

The 19 strings main added since (#791's skill multi-select, the decision API snippets) get their German; the one main replaced (four APIs → five APIs) goes.

* appdir: tidy the import into magpie's group; say what Go makes of /c/x

The appdir import joins the group of magpie's own imports where a file has one. rooted's comment now says that Go takes a Git Bash path like /c/x as \c\x on the current drive, not C:\x.
