Raven: "check for updates" only updated skills already in the library; when
dontbesilent2025/dbskill or mattpocock/skills adds a skill, magpie never said.
CheckSkills now asks GitHub's git trees API once per repo@ref (ETag-cached, a
304 is free) and only when a skill folder under the installed skills' common
folder (newBase) is neither in the library nor already offered does findNew
fetch the tarball for names and descriptions. library.json's seenSkills keeps,
per repo@ref, the paths the install picker showed and the ones set aside, so
an offered skill is offered once. The Skills page shows them under "Also in
their repositories" with Add (to the agents that have the repo's other skills)
and Ignore, plus Add all / Ignore all (/api/library/skills/{add-new,ignore-new}).
Verified: TestCheckSkillsFindsNewOnes (fake repo: nothing offered after
install, no tarball on a second check; two added skills offered, a nested one
and a .wip one not; Add installs with the repo's agents; Ignore keeps it out
on the next check via 304; remove clears) fails without the change (no
NewSkills / findNew) and passes -race -count=10; TestNewBase. A real run in a
sandbox HOME against GitHub: tdd from mattpocock/skills/skills/engineering
offered its 19 siblings; dbs from dbskill offered nothing (the picker showed
all), 33 with seenSkills wiped, and Add installed dbs-action. GUI:
skill-new-in-repo.test.cjs (Chromium+WebKit, 860/440px, en+zh) fails on
main's library.js and passes; gui-ja, gui-de, click-scroll, library-items,
every-skill, pick-skills, import/remove-all-skills, skill-groups,
skill-repo-groups, github-token, library-all pass. -race on library, gui,
tui; gofmt, vet, darwin/linux/windows builds.
library tests: TestAgentsSkillsFolders gives Alma a data folder on Windows (#973) — sandbox clears APPDATA, so os.UserConfigDir failed there: Alma (whose data folder is %APPDATA%\alma) was never there, and the test's MkdirAll made an "alma" folder in the working directory. The test now sets APPDATA in its sandbox, and puts Goose's config where Goose reads it on Windows (%APPDATA%\Block\goose\config), as Alma reads the shared folder Goose's skills are in. No app change. Passes on the Windows box with and without the symlink privilege, and on the Mac.
library: Antigravity is a Library target — rules, MCP servers and skills reach agy and the Antigravity app alike (#277) — both read their user-wide customizations from ~/.gemini/config: GEMINI.md there, mcp_config.json (a remote server written as agy's own
mcp add writes it, its serverUrl, "type": "sse" only for an SSE one so magpie reads it back as one; a url agy read in place of serverUrl is read too; the user's own servers and anything they added to an entry, disabled included, are kept) and skills; a project's skills go in the shared .agents/skills. The rules card says Antigravity also reads Gemini CLI's ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md, so text given to both is read twice. RTK is left out: rtk 0.50 has no user-wide hook for Antigravity. Tested with antigravity_test.go in a sandbox home (target paths and the antigravity-cli alias; stdio, http and sse servers written and read back, user keys and servers kept); library-items.test.cjs 18/18; go vet, go build (GUI, -tags nogui, GOOS=linux, GOOS=windows), go test -tags nogui ./... pass.
library: agents in a running WSL distro take skills, MCP servers and instructions (#331) — the Library knew only this machine's agent ids, so codex@wsl:Ubuntu and the like were never offered, and the id's colon was refused as an agent's name and can't be in a Windows file name. Claude Code, Codex, Pi and OmO in a distro now get them at their default places under the distro's $HOME through \\wsl.localhost, only while it runs (opening a stopped one's files starts it; its state is kept and asking for it says to start it). Skills go in as copies, made beside and renamed into place and made again when the library's changes, since a Linux agent can't follow a link to a Windows folder (project skills share the same copy code); an MCP server that runs a Windows program (C:\…, *.exe/.cmd/.bat/.ps1) is refused for them with a message; Pi there gets no MCP servers, where its version decides the file. The id's colon is a dot in file and folder names, and setup export/import turns it back. TestWSLTargets, TestWSLSkillsCopied, TestWSLServers and TestWSLInstructions (a fake distro) fail without the change. go vet (and GOOS=windows for agent, library), go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui ./... pass. Not run against a real distro.
library: on Windows without the right to make symlinks, skills are linked with junctions (#973) — with Developer Mode off and magpie not elevated, os.Symlink fails with "A required privilege is not held by the client": a skill installed from a folder became a detached copy, and bringing in a skill from ~/.agents/skills failed outright. The library's folder links (an agent's link to the library's skill, a folder source, a skill brought in from a link or the shared folder, a carried skill's folder, relink) now go through dirLink, which on that error makes a directory junction instead: one every user may make, followed by every program as a symlink to a folder is, made natively (FSCTL_SET_REPARSE_POINT, no mklink). A target a junction can't reach (a network share) still gets the old copy. Go reports a junction as irregular, not a symlink, so ours, unlink, carry's clearing of the library, a project's place and the CC Switch update now tell a link by linkEntry (symlink or junction) and take it away with os.Remove, leaving what it points at, even when where it points can't be read. On the Windows box with every privilege stripped from the token (CreateRestrictedToken DISABLE_MAX_PRIVILEGE, whoami /priv shows SeChangeNotify only) and an explicit sandbox environment, the library's tests went from 16 failures to none (TestSkillHow, TestProjectSkillsLinked, TestCarry, TestSkillCopyEditReachesTheOthers, TestImportSharedSkillForKimi …); with the privilege they pass too. TestJunctionIsALink (Windows: magpie's own, read through, unlinked without its target, none to a share) is new; the folder fixtures that ignored a failed os.Symlink now use dirLink, and the tests' link checks accept a junction. go test -race ./internal/library/ on the Mac, go vet, windows/linux(nogui) builds pass.

library: Claude Desktop's MCP servers go into Claude-3p/claude_desktop_config.json as well, where its 3p mode reads them (#297: Claude Desktop 使用 magpie 三方网关(3p)后,library 写入的 MCP 在 Desktop 里看不到) — in 3p mode, which magpie's own provider switch turns on, Desktop's whole userData is Claude-3p (~/Library/Application Support/Claude-3p, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Claude-3p on Windows, ~/.config/Claude-3p), its MCP servers included, so the servers the library wrote into Claude/'s file never showed in Settings → Developer. Where the Claude-3p folder is, its file is now written with Claude/'s, in one edit with each file's own keys kept, read for servers to bring in, and cleared on removal even when Claude/'s no longer has the entry — both, not whichever mode is on, so switching the provider leaves nothing stale and Desktop finds them in either mode; no Claude-3p folder is made for a Desktop never in 3p, and one only ever in 3p (no Claude folder) gets its servers there alone. A server given before reaches Claude-3p on the next sync. Tested with new desktop3p_test.go in a sandbox HOME (both files written and cleared, the user's servers and keys kept, sync of an older server, 3p only); each fails without the change. go vet, go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui ./... pass. Not tried against a real Desktop in 3p.
library: Claude Desktop's skills list shows again, each skill's updatedAt an ISO time (mingxitang, #863) — magpie wrote a skill's updatedAt in the kind lastUpdated had, milliseconds where it is a number, but Desktop's own entries are ISO times or null and listLocalSkills checks the whole list at once: one number and the skills page stayed loading (failed to pass validation). Now updatedAt is always an ISO time and lastUpdated keeps its own kind; an entry written as milliseconds before is written as the same moment in ISO at the next sync, its other keys as they were. TestClaudeDesktopSkills: the entry of a manifest with millisecond lastUpdated, and an old numeric entry fixed at a sync; it fails on the old code. go vet, builds (darwin, GOOS=linux nogui, GOOS=windows) and go test -tags nogui -count=1 ./... under a temp HOME pass (five timing tests under load 20 passed when run again).

library: MCP servers, skills and instructions are kept once in magpie and given to any agent from one place, with a market to find and add them (#29). Each agent reads MCP servers and skills from files of its own and in a format of its own, so one server was set up again in Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Pi, Goose, Cursor, Copilot CLI and Crush. The Library view keeps each once: a server is added (stdio, http or sse, its env and headers) and switched on per agent with its icon, and magpie writes it into each agent's config in that agent's format, leaving what the agent has of its own as it is; a server or skill an agent already has is shown, to bring into the library. A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md, kept in the library from GitHub (owner/repo, or a link to a folder in one; updated from it later) or linked from a folder on this machine, and linked into each agent's skills folder. The instructions every agent reads (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md…) can be kept as one too. The market offers checked MCP servers first, then the official MCP Registry's, filled in from what the registry says each needs (keys asked for in a form, never guessed), and skills.sh's most installed skills with what each says it is for; each shows its real icon (the vendor's own, else its GitHub owner's), fetched through magpie only for the icons the market or the library gave out, and an added server or skill keeps its icon in the library. What magpie changes in an agent's files is backed up first
library: a remote MCP server signed in once in magpie is used by every agent without signing in again (#615) — a streamable-HTTP server behind OAuth (Neon, Notion, Supabase) had each agent run its own sign-in. The server's editor now has Sign in: magpie finds the authorization server from the server's 401 (RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata, RFC 8414/OIDC metadata, else the 2025-03 /authorize, /token, /register at its origin), registers itself (RFC 7591, a 127.0.0.1 redirect), opens the browser with PKCE S256 and the resource, and keeps the tokens in mcp-signins.json beside its other account secrets (0600, never the keychain). While signed in, the agents are given the gateway's /mcp/<name> for that server, without the Authorization the library has for it; the gateway passes POST (JSON or event stream), the GET stream and DELETE on with the Mcp-Session-Id and magpie's token, renews it 2 minutes before it runs out and once on a 401, one renewal per server at a time, and a sign-in the server won't renew is answered 502 "sign in to it again" (never a 401 the agent would act on). library: a remote MCP server signed in once in magpie is used by every agent without signing in again (#615) — a streamable-HTTP server behind OAuth (Neon, Notion, Supabase) had each agent run its own sign-in. Signing out, a new URL or an SSE server gives the agents the server's own address as before; a rename keeps the sign-in and removing the server drops it. /mcp/ is local-only or LAN-shared with the key, and refuses a request with an Origin or a Host not naming this computer, so a web page can't borrow the sign-in through the browser (form posts, DNS rebinding), and isn't counted as busy or key-limited. agent: MiniMax Code (#362) — MiniMax's mcode CLI (and its desktop app, same runtime) reads $MINIMAX_DATA_DIR/config.yaml, else ~/.minimax/config.yaml. Choosing a magpie model adds custom_provider.magpie there (the gateway, spoken to as Anthropic messages, with the catalog's models, efforts, limits and image support) and sets defaultModel to custom_provider:magpie/<model>; the user's own default and variant are kept and put back on reset, their comments, providers and keys on magpie's entry stay, and an emptied custom_provider goes. The Library installs skills into its skills folder; it reads no user-wide MCP file, so it gets no MCP target. Checked against @minimax-ai/code 0.5.10 in a sandbox HOME: mcode provider list shows magpie's entry and mcode exec reaches a fake upstream through it with magpie's key, model and effort; after a reset it loads the restored file. TestMiniMaxCode, TestMiniMaxCodeSync, TestMiniMaxCodeLeavesNoEmptyProviders, TestMiniMaxCodeDataDir and TestMiniMaxCodeSkills fail without the change. go vet, go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui ./... pass (TestUserPath and the Claude account tests pass alone).
agent: OmO (oh-my-openagent, omo-ai), a fork of Pi that keeps its own ~/.omo/agent, gets its own row: a magpie model sets settings.json's defaultProvider/defaultModel and magpie's provider in models.json there as Pi's does, $OMO_CODING_AGENT_DIR / $SENPI_CODING_AGENT_DIR are honoured, the Library writes its AGENTS.md, mcp.json and skills, and
omo update updates it (#264 rhyme227). Pi's own ~/.pi is left alone. piIn becomes piLike(at, id, name, dir) so both share one wiring. Tested with omo_test.go in agent and library (fail without the change); go vet, go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux, GOOS=windows), go test -tags nogui ./... pass.
library: ZCode and Pi get a project's MCP servers too, and a project can be removed keeping what magpie wrote into it (#514, follow-up to #500: zcode支持项目级mcp添加 / pi也支持项目级mcp / 删除项目但保留mcp/skill) — a project's servers went only to Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and OpenCode, and Remove took every skill and server magpie had put in the folder away, so a project given some once had to stay in magpie for good. ZCode's project file is <project>/.zcode/config.json, servers under mcp.servers as in its user-wide ~/.zcode/cli/config.json (zcode.z.ai/en/docs/mcp-services, "Configuration Files and Default Load Paths": workspace scope, read before the user's, "enable": false the user's to set), written with fmtZCode (type, command/args/env or url/headers); Pi's is <project>/.pi/mcp.json, mcpServers as Pi's own MCP reads them once the project is trusted (pi.dev/docs/latest/mcp, "Configure servers"), written with fmtPiNative (command/args/env, url/headers, no type; SSE refused, as Pi refuses it), whatever extension the user's own Pi file is written for. Both are merged as the other agents' are: the user's keys, servers and comments stay, a server of the same name that isn't magpie's is left alone and said, a file magpie made (.pi/mcp.json) goes in the .gitignore and goes again once empty, and ZCode's user-wide file isn't touched. The page learns a project file's own SSE limit (projectNoSSE), so Pi's chip is greyed for an SSE server in a project even when its user-wide file (pi-mcp-adapter's) takes SSE; the trust note now names Pi beside Codex. The Remove dialog of a project magpie put anything in has "Keep its skills and MCP servers" / 保留项目里的技能和 MCP 服务器 (a checkbox row in the library's pick style, no coloured left border): checked, the text says what stays and Remove posts projects/remove with keep, and RemoveProject(dir, keep) only takes the project off the list — skills (links still following the library's), servers in the agents' files and magpie's .gitignore lines stay as they are, and nothing magpie does later (a sync, the server removed from the library) touches them; unchecked it removes as before. A one-off add without a project first (pick a folder from a server or skill) is not in this change. TestProjectServersZCodePi (ZCode's file with the user's model, server, enable:false and key kept beside magpie's three; Pi's file made in its shape, the SSE server refused with its reason, listed in .gitignore; ZCode's user-wide file unchanged; removing takes out only magpie's and the file it made) and TestRemoveProjectKeep (every file byte for byte after the removal, after a sync and after the server leaves the library) fail without the change, as does project-remove-keep.test.cjs (WebKit, and Chromium through a temp copy on plain chromium.launch(); en and zh: the box unchecked, its text, no stripe, pressing it scrolls nothing and swaps the text, Remove posts keep: true and says they were kept; a project with nothing written has no box and posts as before) against HEAD's assets. project-servers, click-scroll, library-items, library-all pass; menu-scroll and old-webkit fail the same on HEAD. No live config was read or written. go vet ./internal/..., go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui -count=1 ./... (under a temp HOME) pass (TestFXInState failed on a TempDir cleanup race twice in the full gui run, passes alone and on the rerun; untouched).

library: on Windows without the right to make symlinks, skills are linked with junctions (#973) — with Developer Mode off and magpie not elevated, os.Symlink fails with "A required privilege is not held by the client": a skill installed from a folder became a detached copy, and bringing in a skill from ~/.agents/skills failed outright. TestJunctionIsALink (Windows: magpie's own, read through, unlinked without its target, none to a share) is new; the folder fixtures that ignored a failed os.Symlink now use dirLink, and the tests' link checks accept a junction. go test -race ./internal/library/ on the Mac, go vet, windows/linux(nogui) builds pass.
library: switching a group of skills on or off no longer reads every copy every agent has (#1031, mintonight: 开关一整个技能组时很卡,要10多秒才能完成)
gui: a Discover card says Add again once its server or skill is removed (#300), and hovering today's bar in the daily trend keeps its tooltip (#309) — every library change went through change(), which redrew the library only; the market's "Added" marks were refreshed on window focus alone, so removing a server or skill, adding or renaming one in the editor, or pasting several left them stale. take() is now the one way the page accepts a library: when the servers' or skills' names change it clears the marks of those gone, redraws the market and fetches it again. RemoveServer drops the server's icon from library.json, unless another server runs the same thing. The Sessions tab re-reads every 15s, and with an agent at work today's numbers change, so the chart was rebuilt and today's bar under the pointer replaced, its tooltip with it; a redraw with the same days, metric and locale now updates the bars in place (heights, titles, peak). market-have.test.cjs and sessions-today.test.cjs (Chromium, WebKit, en/zh) and TestRemoveServerDropsItsIcon fail without the change. go vet, go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui ./... pass; sessions-overview, click-scroll, old-webkit, library-items, shared-skills pass.
library, gui: the MCP servers page has the skills page's Select, Turn all on, Turn all off and Remove all, under one "In the library" heading (#1027, emo172)
library: Remove all beside Turn all on/off takes every skill out of the library at once (#449) — a library of many skills could only be emptied a row's Remove at a time. Remove all, in red, asks in the page first, naming the agents that lose the skills, the projects magpie placed them in, the folders that go to magpie's backups and those of the user's own that are only unlinked; Cancel sends nothing. Confirming sends every name in one call, library.RemoveSkills, which takes each as RemoveSkill does, the folders kept aside together under one backup; one that can't be taken out stays, and is said, while the rest go. magpie library skill rm --all does the same, asking y/N on a terminal and, with none, only with --yes. TestRemoveSkills and TestLibrarySkillRmAll fail without the change, as does remove-all-skills.test.cjs (Chromium and WebKit, English and Chinese); click-scroll, old-webkit, every-skill pass. go vet, go build -tags nogui (darwin, GOOS=linux), GOOS=windows go build, go test -tags nogui ./... pass (bar the known Claude account flake TestClaudeSignedOut).

library, gui: DeepSeek Harness is listed under Library › RTK with why RTK has no hook for it, not left out (lc on Discord) — RTK rewrites the shell command an agent is about to run, and dsh's hooks can only allow or deny one (its Claude Code bridge drops updatedInput; deepseek-harness's pre-tool-input-rewrite is only proposed), and rtk 0.51's init has no --agent dsh (rtk-ai/rtk#3847; the open #3934 only adds AGENTS.md text, which rewrites nothing). So the RTK tab left dsh out and it read as magpie not seeing it. rtkNoHook names it with the reason: the row has a No RTK hook tag (zh/ja/de) and a switch that can't be turned on, magpie library rtk prints the reason, and on/off for dsh answer it instead of "rtk has no hook for dsh". profiles: a saved profile keeps the Library's setup too, and switching to it switches that as well (#29) — which agents get each MCP server and skill, and the instructions (the shared text, the agents it is written to, what each gets besides), so moving from one profile to another left the tools and the instructions as they were and only the models followed. A profile keeps them under "library" beside its agent.field keys; the servers and skills themselves stay in the library, a profile only names them. Applying one sets the models as before, then gives each server and skill to the agents it names and puts the instructions back, written into the agents as any Library change is, their files and the library's own instructions kept aside first; one removed from the library since is skipped and said so, one added since keeps its agents (the profile knows nothing of it, and switching it off would lose it for good). A profile saved before, or while the library was empty, carries none and leaves the library as it is. magpie profiles, the TUI and the panel's chips say what a profile gives out (+ library: 2 servers, 1 skill, instructions)
library: agents in a running WSL distro take skills, MCP servers and instructions (#331) — the Library knew only this machine's agent ids, so codex@wsl:Ubuntu and the like were never offered, and the id's colon was refused as an agent's name and can't be in a Windows file name. TestJunctionIsALink (Windows: magpie's own, read through, unlinked without its target, none to a share) is new; the folder fixtures that ignored a failed os.Symlink now use dirLink, and the tests' link checks accept a junction. go test -race ./internal/library/ on the Mac, go vet, windows/linux(nogui) builds pass.
library: the skills picked can be put in a group of the user's own (#791, mintonight: 能不能在选择后自己创建分组呢) — with Select on (By source), the pick bar has Group…, which asks a name in the bar (Enter makes it, Escape goes back; a group there is is offered to add them to). The group is kept in library.json (skillGroups) and shown as a card of its own above the groups by source, open, its skills taken out of their sources' cards; a skill is in one group at most. The card has Rename (in place) and Ungroup, and the pick bar Ungroup for picked skills that are in one; grouping changes only how the page shows the skills, never what the agents get. A skill taken out of the library leaves its group, and an empty group goes. zh/ja/de strings added. TestSkillGroups and skill-groups.test.cjs (WebKit, en and zh: group, rename, ungroup; it fails on the old code, which has no Group…); pick-skills, skill-parts, group-skill-chips and the other library tests pass on WebKit. go vet, builds (darwin, GOOS=linux nogui, GOOS=windows) and go test -tags nogui -count=1 ./... under a temp HOME pass (TestProvidersAnswerWhileListsComeIn, TestUserPath and TestClaudeSignedOut flaked under load and pass alone).

library: switching a group of skills on or off no longer reads every copy every agent has (#1031, mintonight: 开关一整个技能组时很卡,要10多秒才能完成)
library, gui, cli: skills can be given to the agents as copies rather than links, for every agent or one (#896, ADabbler) — the Library linked each skill into the agents (a copy only where it couldn't link: Windows without the right to make links, WSL, Claude Desktop), and some want each agent to have a folder of its own. Skills › under the list, "Give skills as: Links | Copies" sets the library's way (library.json copySkills), and By agent gives an agent its own way (skillHow: Library's way / Links / Copies; Claude Desktop and WSL only ever take copies and have no switch). A copy is the whole skill folder with the .magpie-library marker, made by the same swap as before (.name.magpie-next, the old one set aside), so it is known for magpie's: taking a skill away removes magpie's copy and never a folder of the user's by that name. Switching makes each enabled skill again in place: a link becomes a copy; a copy becomes a link (made beside it and swapped in; a copy edited by hand is kept with the backups first). Where a link can't be made (Windows without the right) it stays a copy, as before. A copy follows the library's skill on every sync (at start, and after any change in the Library) as before; one that differs now (the library's folder edited by hand) is marked "Copy out of date" on the skill, saying in which agents, and a click copies it again. CLI: magpie library skill how link|copy [agent], magpie library skill how default <agent>. en/zh/ja/de. TestSkillHow (temp HOME: links at first, bad ways refused, copies marked, Read's how and copySkills, behind after a hand edit and cleared by a sync, codex its own way, an edited copy kept in the backups, back to the library's way, the user's own same-name folder and own skill untouched both ways, a copy removed with its skill) fails without the change; TestSkillCopyFollowsTheLibrary and TestSkillCopySwapSurvivesAnUndeletableFile now ask for copies rather than leave a copy where links are given, which is made a link again now. skill-how.test.cjs (WebKit, en and zh: the bar, Links/Copies posted with the note and status, the out-of-date tag with its agents and a click syncing without opening the skill, By agent's sheet with Claude Desktop's copies-only row and no switch, an agent's way posted and back to the library's, By agent (1), no select, no scroll, no left border) fails without it. Every Library and skill GUI test and click-scroll pass in WebKit. go vet, go build (darwin, GOOS=linux nogui, GOOS=windows) and go test -tags nogui ./... under a temp HOME pass.
library: on Windows without the right to make symlinks, skills are linked with junctions (#973) — with Developer Mode off and magpie not elevated, os.Symlink fails with "A required privilege is not held by the client": a skill installed from a folder became a detached copy, and bringing in a skill from ~/.agents/skills failed outright.
