feat: improve microphone, chat and platform support
This release adds microphone processing controls and local chat controls, expands platform packages, and synchronizes the website and guides. It also fixes native H.264 input/format handling, signaling recovery, fresh STUN discovery, and UDP ownership during overlapping connections. This is **v1.8.0**. Browser/Server v23, Native control v9 and capture v7 remain unchanged, with the existing 1440p ceiling. Additional resolutions, capability negotiation and Magicsock are separate follow-up work. ## Validation - Full local Web check: 79 files / 1,317 tests, TypeScript and production build. - Full Go checks, platform builds and Windows native capture regressions/probe. - Native H.264 Host lifecycle, Browser-to-App fanout and App-exit recovery, and Native H.264 through embedded SFU: all passed with owned process/port/profile cleanup. - Website build, documentation and repository hygiene passed. Existing UI acceptance covers narrow screens, both languages/themes, architecture downloads and all 23 film checks; final packaging and Go race checks run on the merged revision in CI. - Physical macOS/Linux capture, representative public networks and unmatched field reports retain their documented evidence limits. The current session keeps up to 1,000 text messages and clears on page refresh; export first if you want to keep them. - Added Intel Mac and Linux ARM64 App packages, plus Linux ARM64 Server and container images. The website provides architecture selectors and shows the latest release and publication date. - Updated the website demonstration, README screenshots and bilingual guides, clarifying that browser capture can also select windows or screens. A room-code placeholder keeps the bottom bar stable before sharing starts. - Added direct website links to troubleshooting, with steps for browser WebRTC restrictions, campus networks and Windows graphics issues. - The App mode-selection page now shows its free and open-source status, author and contributor credit, and links to the official website and source. #### Fixes - Corrected H.264 format compatibility checks and Windows encoder input-length and output-buffer alignment handling. - Retired stale reconnect tasks and Native receive signals so they cannot continue affecting the current session. - Fixed App reconnection reusing an expired public address. Fresh discovery handles lost probes and stale responses while preserving other working connections. - Fixed UDP socket conflicts between overlapping App media connections so preparing or canceling a replacement preserves the active picture. Closing a connection now cancels unfinished gateway mapping requests. - Connection recovery on passwordless sites no longer incorrectly asks for a site passphrase. - Expired-room and session-termination reasons now use the same TV status indicator before and during sharing, without an extra notice strip. - Corrected Linux native capture timestamps and keyframe time bases. Windows remains x64-only. macOS packages support Apple silicon and Intel; native capture requires macOS 13 or newer. fix(media): preserve sharing startup and viewing continuity
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Native sharing could start capture before discovering that the browser could not create its local media connection. Connected Viewer routes could also be retired solely because decoded frames stopped advancing, including quiet or backgrounded game sources. This maintenance phase acquires the browser bridge before capture, preserves connected routes through frame silence, scopes Native keyframe recovery to the requested outputs, and reports terminal Browser sender failures to the existing connection owner. No configuration changes are required. ## Verification / 验证 - `npm run check`: 76 files / 1,133 tests, TypeScript and production Web build passed. - Targeted Browser sender/pool checks: 97 tests passed on maintenance and interaction candidates. - Go mediaedge/nativehost/nativecapture/forwarding tests and scoped vet passed; output-scope regression tests reject the old behavior. - Matched Chrome 152 VP8/H264 ordinary/pool tests with two viewers and a one-second network constraint completed with healthy sibling isolation. VP8's deeper pooled quality dip remains open. - Physical startup/resource-exhaustion and quiet-game reproduction boundaries are documented in the existing research owners. - `npm run check:go`: formatting, Go tests/vet, Windows/Linux builds, Windows native capture compilation/probes and regressions passed. Darwin packaging and Go race checks run on the native CI runners. - Actual Windows App H264 and VP8 Host gates passed: decoded video, live/paused profile changes, quiet/background-source recovery, source replacement, failure cleanup and subsequent sharing; all experiment-owned processes and ports closed. - Website build and repository hygiene checks passed. Independent full-phase frontend and native reviews found no release-blocking regression. ## Impact / 影响 Patch release v1.6.6. Browser/server v23, Native control v9, capture v7 and SQLite schema 2 remain unchanged. No interaction prototype, route-selection policy, new quality heuristic, or configuration migration is included. Real-phone and heterogeneous network/device coverage remain bounded by the existing verification record. |

feat: improve feedback and App lifecycle reliability (#404)
Waiting feedback and tooltips now share consistent presentation lifecycles, while App shutdown and native-media operation failures stay within their owning session or output. This phase also consolidates the project standards and publishes searchable English/Chinese reader documentation alongside the homepage. Validation: repository hygiene and Markdown links; TypeScript, 971 Web tests and production build; website/documentation build; Go tests, vet and Windows/Linux builds with Windows capture checks; desktop/mobile UI and documentation review. Linux race, container and three-platform packaging checks run in the release pipeline. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader network coverage remain outside this acceptance. The owner approved v1.4.0 publication. Existing empty-source, Windows URL-handler and public-invitation timeout reports remain tracked; this release makes no claim to resolve those device/network reports. Waiting captions appear immediately and rotate while visible; actionable errors and instructions remain fixed. - Room-admission comics use restrained characters and looping motion. Tooltips point more accurately to their controls and interfere less with the player, with consistent meanings across illustrations, icons and copy. - A new English/Chinese documentation center includes search, mobile navigation, usage guides, troubleshooting and self-hosting. The homepage FAQ covers questions before getting started and links to the documentation for detailed help. #### Fixes - Starting with `--local` no longer clears a saved Piik site address. - Opening the system browser no longer blocks App shutdown. Temporary public invitations, the terminal and diagnostic exports handle cleanup and exit errors more consistently. - An operation failure on one native media connection no longer becomes a protocol failure for the entire session. Repeated stop-sharing requests are safe. - Fixed cleanup cases during connection replacement, relay shutdown and unexpected exits, preventing late results from affecting the current connection. - On Windows, an encoder failure for one native output stops that output only. A failure of the shared capture source still ends sharing. #### Updating and known limits Protocol versions and configuration formats are unchanged. After updating the App or your self-hosted Server, reopen the page to use its updated interface. Empty source lists on some devices, Windows browser-launch failures and Linux output-failure isolation remain under investigation. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader public-network coverage still need device testing; this update does not claim to resolve those cases or guarantee a direct connection on every network. |

fix: improve sharing recovery and UI feedback
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Browser sharing can remain connected to a local encoding transport that never becomes usable, leaving viewers without frames. This phase bounds that startup at eight seconds and restores ordinary encoding through the existing failure path. It also keeps ready App services running after a browser-open failure, preserves user presentation/playback choices, and aligns room feedback, illustrated hints, metrics and documentation. 部分环境下，本机编码连接一直无法建立会让观众收不到画面。本轮在八秒后进入现有降级流程，同时修复客户端启动移交、播放状态和前端反馈的一致性问题，并更新官网与中英文教程。 Closes #399. Related: #396. The release contains relevant startup/error-handling repairs, but the reporting machine has not been retested. Keep this issue open for a current-build result. #401 (optional Windows capture-border hiding) remains deferred. Change language or theme on the destination page when using an older launcher. ## Verification / 验证 Non-publishing [CI candidate run 34919320511](https://github.com/TNTcraftHIM/Piik/actions/runs/34919320511) passed Go core, race, Web checks, Server/container verification and all three native App package checks at source 188376e8. Subsequent commits only update deployment documentation, status and TODO; documentation/hygiene checks passed. Product inputs are unchanged. - `npm run check`: TypeScript, 64 test files / 854 tests, and the Web production build passed. - `npm run check:client-core`: final Go source passed tests, formatting, vet and core target builds. Windows capture compilation and geometry checks passed earlier in this phase; later edits did not change native capture. - Website build, documentation checks, repository hygiene and diff checks passed. Existing documentation-size and bundle-size warnings remain. - Actual browser flows covered sharing, source changes, pause/resume, late audio, brief signaling loss, invitation/copy feedback, entry preferences, source-picker focus, and narrow layouts. - A local three-viewer P2P relay check covered quality-report expiry, recovery and cleanup without interrupting video. A controlled browser-helper failure returning `0xc0000005` left the real App launcher and Local service available. - Homepage checks covered Chinese/English, light/dark preferences and inline-film open/close after removing the separate-page entry. Limits: no new reporter-machine confirmation for #396 or the Windows URL-handler crash; physical Safari/mobile, macOS/Linux capture and wider public-network/endurance coverage remain deferred. Formal release artifacts will be built from the approved squash-merge revision. Hero-loop controls and video-adjacent tooltip placement remain open design items in TODO. ## Impact / 影响 Compatible patch; signaling, Native control and capture contracts are unchanged. Older App launch handoff keeps the updated Site's saved presentation preferences. The Server's default viewer limit is corrected to 20; an explicit 1–20 configuration remains valid. Service updates retain persisted room authority but restart active media sessions. Deploy the verified immutable Server artifact through the existing bounded health/recovery process. Public Demo remains open and P2P-only; deployment does not enable SFU or change infrastructure/configuration. |

fix(website): restore download provider labels and clarify Server packages
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Restore explicit GitHub and Gitee labels on every platform download card while keeping each provider's native latest-download URL. Identify the Linux Server archive by its actual release filename in both READMEs and self-hosting guides, and record the remaining maintenance reports in TODO. ## Verification / 验证 - Website build, documentation checks and repository hygiene pass. - Both languages fit at 360px; all six links retain their platform-specific latest routes. - An independent reader ran the documented source and Windows App sharing paths; the Server archive naming correction follows that walkthrough. - The release planner reports `publish: false` for this commit. ## Impact / 影响 Website and documentation only; no App/Server release. The Chrome block on Gitee downloads remains unresolved and tracked in TODO; the label correction does not clear that provider verdict. |

fix(site): use latest downloads with simpler labels (#398)
Both platform download routes now follow the provider's native latest attachment: GitHub uses `releases/latest/download/…` and Gitee uses `releases/download/latest/…`. Publishing a mirrored package no longer requires rebuilding the website to refresh a version-specific URL. Remove the build-time release API calls, metadata adapter and its obsolete tests. The main buttons read “Download” / “下载”, with “Download via Gitee” / “Gitee 备用下载” for the alternative. The film's homepage demonstration inherits the same links and copy. The website guide documents the routes and the possible delay between primary publication and mirror completion. Validation: website build and TypeScript checks; six generated latest links checked in the homepage and film demonstration; all three real Gitee latest downloads matched the GitHub package sizes and SHA-256 checksums. The release planner reports `publish: false`. |

feat(app): improve startup, diagnostics and direct connections (#397)
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Machines with several local addresses could fail before opening Piik, and startup or connection failures were difficult to diagnose. This phase adds Local invitation-address selection and accessible diagnostics, preserves useful startup errors, and repairs media preparation and recovery without changing room authority or routing policy. Fixes cover stale candidates and completion signals during ICE restarts, and feedback from failed connection preparation. Native media can use direct IPv6 connections where available while retaining IPv4 paths. - **Keep sharing recovery aligned with the current source and settings.** Source changes count new frames for startup protection, SFU recovery uses the latest quality preferences, and one failed answer submission no longer disables Native receiving for the entire session. Duplicate password-error feedback has also been removed. - **Improve playback and fullscreen interaction.** Safari native fullscreen now synchronizes playback, volume and exit state. Interactive video surfaces show a pointer cursor. - **Align language selection and community translation guidance.** Simplified and Traditional Chinese system locales select Simplified Chinese; other systems default to English. Chinese, English and visual-mode shortcuts remain, with bilingual translation guides and a registration path for additional languages. - **Simplify release downloads and refresh the website.** Release attachments contain the three App ZIPs and the Server runtime archive; source identity and checksums appear in a collapsed section of the release notes. The website keeps its embedded introduction and adds a standalone viewing link, with updated setup, download and operations guidance. **Upgrading:** Extract the complete App ZIP for your platform and keep its directory structure. Follow the deployment guide for Server upgrades, preserving existing configuration and SQLite data. Existing wire contracts and storage formats are unchanged. **Test coverage:** Windows App and desktop browsers are the primary validated paths. Diagnostic archive accumulation is retained by the owner's explicit choice. The currently unreachable language menu placement issue is a first-community-language prerequisite in TODO. Physical macOS/Linux capture, broader mobile behavior, restricted-network/endurance coverage and cross-network Native IPv6 remain explicitly outside this candidate's evidence. ## Impact / 影响 Compatible feature release, planned as v1.2.0 from v1.1.2. Browser/server v23, Native control v9, capture v7 and SQLite schema 2 remain unchanged. No new telemetry service, retry policy or configuration requirement is introduced. Public Demo remains open-entry and P2P-only. NAT-PMP dependency corrections are explicitly deferred to the next release and are not claimed here. The existing product, configuration, translation, research and operations owners were updated. Raw audits, handoffs, diagnostic logs and experimental sources are excluded from the PR. |

fix(website): match the host prop to each shared activity (#395)
The homepage and README host now holds the prop that matches the television: a gamepad for the RPG, a paintbrush and palette for drawing, a camera for photos, and a remote for the film. Small gestures and prop visibility use the existing SVG activity timeline; the still image retains the gamepad. Both README languages reuse the same asset. This phase changes only the standalone website, its generator/check, README descriptions and the completed TODO entry. Validation: website build and deterministic SVG check; 14 cut/loop boundary samples, all four shared poses, still/reduced-motion and mobile layout; TypeScript, 59 test files / 776 tests, production Web build and repository hygiene. |

feat(ui): add illustrated hints and playback gestures
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 App startup rejected short or non-ASCII site passwords, viewers lacked picture-click playback gestures, and text-mode hints hid the existing illustrations. This phase accepts site passwords verbatim, combines shared illustrations with localized captions in tooltips and stage overlays, and adds desktop single-click play/pause and double-click fullscreen through the existing playback owner. Pure-visual mode remains available. App ZIP names are now stable per platform, allowing the website to use GitHub's native latest-download URLs. The App update link selects the ZIP matching its compiled OS and architecture from the checked release metadata, falling back to the release page if the package is unavailable. Verified Gitee links retain their explicit release version. User accepted the resulting UI. - Real stage overlay components passed 46 checks across the three modes and 260/390/1280px layouts, including keyboard play activation, reduced motion, and no overlay over healthy playback with a quality limitation. - Bounded release review confirmed JSON password authentication retains old bodyless Bearer compatibility and ZIP names match packaging, publisher, mirror and website consumers. - After checking both providers' real API shapes, 27 focused update tests and type-checking passed; anonymous GitHub and Gitee metadata each selected all three actual platform ZIPs without downloading them. - Documentation, repository hygiene and diff checks passed. ## Impact / 影响 Compatible feature release. Signaling, Native control, capture protocol and persistent room schema are unchanged. The new latest-download filenames must be published before the matching website deploys; the existing CI-to-Website sequence provides that order. ## Problem and outcome App downloads used tar.gz archives, which are less convenient to open with desktop file managers. Windows, macOS and Linux App packages now ship as ZIP files. Packaging extracts the completed ZIP and runs the existing runtime checks against those extracted files, covering the actual distributed package. The website links directly to the published ZIP for each platform, with an explicitly labeled GitHub primary download and matching Gitee alternative. ## Problem and outcome Website visitors can download the usual Windows x64, macOS Apple silicon and Linux x64 App packages directly from clearly labeled platform cards. Each card includes a verified Gitee alternative, with shared setup guidance and a More downloads link for the full release list. The homepage reuses the application's 20 bilingual greetings, and the sample game no longer displays an invented title. Website builds resolve links from the latest published GitHub release and validate matching mirror assets. Website deployment follows main CI so newly published packages reach the next site build. Version selection and release notes now share a product-change filter: standalone website, documentation and maintenance changes do not create App/Server releases or affect the next product version. ## Verification - `npm run check`: 57 test files / 759 tests, TypeScript and product production build passed. - Website build passed with real GitHub/Gitee v1.0.0 metadata and with the explicit local fallback. - English and Chinese browser checks at 390px and 1440px passed: platform links, More downloads, greeting selection and language switching. - All 23 website film check groups passed; the final shared artwork change rebuilt successfully. - Documentation, repository hygiene and diff checks passed. feat: launch Piik with a unified interface and public website
Piik now has one public presentation and a coordinated App/Server release path. This phase unifies the room UI, rewrites the bilingual README and guides, adds a static website with an inline product film, and prepares matching GitHub/Gitee packages and update links. The film uses the current homepage and shared product controls on one seekable timeline. Runtime fixes preserve presentation when the App opens a room, normalize Site origins, and keep capture and media-recovery status in the television indicator. New visits use Chinese for a Chinese system language and English otherwise; explicit language and visual-mode choices remain available. An optional site passphrase controls site entry, while room authorization remains enforced. GitHub is the release authority. Gitee mirrors verified packages and provides update metadata when GitHub is unavailable. Reviewed PR release notes become the GitHub Release description. The separate public demo uses P2P only, with HTTPS and STUN verified.
