fix(media): recover H264 selection and isolate rejected ICE candidates
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Windows native H.264 startup trusted the first enumerated hardware encoder. A failing GPU/driver could end sharing even when another encoder worked. The shared capture/relay selector now tries hardware candidates within its existing startup budget, verifies actual H.264 output, and retains the selected backend for later source/quality changes. Explicit H.264 never silently becomes VP8. A browser ICE candidate rejected with `OperationError` also aborted the remaining queue and could prevent the Viewer from answering. The shared candidate receiver now records that rejection and continues; description/lifecycle errors still propagate, and transport state and the existing route deadline retain failure authority. The launcher no longer prefills the Demo address. Local native Host gate passed decoded Viewer frames, live quality changes, source replacement and cleanup. - Browser Host/Viewer queue regressions fail before the ICE repair and pass afterward. Chrome 152 rejected an injected mismatched media identifier, then connected using valid candidates. - External-host public invitation HTTP/WebSocket gate and native H.264 RTP delivery gate passed. The remote Pion gate establishes RTP receipt, not physical remote decoding or endurance. ## Impact / 影响 Patch release v1.6.1; no wire, persistence, route-policy or dependency changes. Browser/App/Server public compatibility is preserved. Shared media/routing owners and scoped research/TODO are updated; unknown reporter causes remain explicit. No claim of universal H.264 driver recovery, improved NAT success on every network, or a fix for provider HTTP 1033. Site-mode redesign and 4K remain outside this phase. |

Browser and native capture keep one outgoing audio track and the existing room/media owners. Include optional password-free invitations, public-tunnel protocol fallback, capture retirement and App-discovery feedback fixes. Recipients then follow the site's and room's current admission settings. - **Clearer startup settings:** optional site-password settings are collapsed, the existing-site field suggests `demo.piik.tv`, and the NAT enhancement option has a clearer description. #### Fixes - Public invitations can use the tunnel component's existing protocol fallback when UDP is blocked but TCP is available, reducing startup failures on those networks. - Audio changes preserve healthy video sending. Retired capture events no longer affect an active share. - Stopping or cancelling native capture releases the capture session before enforcing the shutdown deadline. This fixes a locally reproduced case where forced termination left a Windows capture border behind. - Pages opened from the App keep a clear connection warning in the source picker when the App cannot be reached, instead of showing only Browser and Camera without an explanation. #### Usage notes Camera and audio support depend on the OS, browser and device. Windows may still require a border because of permissions or another active capture. Physical phone camera and real audio-level/echo/multiple-device coverage remain recorded limits; the owner authorized release with those limits. No universal NAT/border fix is claimed. ## Impact / 影响 Compatible feature release **v1.6.0**, explicitly approved by the owner. Browser/Server v23, Native control v9 and capture v7 stay unchanged; new App microphone commands use capability negotiation. No new dependency, port, media route, room lifecycle or storage migration. Published Server cutover retains configuration and room storage and uses bounded health checks with the previous executable available for rollback. fix(media): preserve playback through native connection recovery
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Compatible Native receiver renegotiation rebuilt the encoded source and its playback/relay consumers. Replacement backends could also lose committed-route recovery ownership, while queued events and unfinished SFU cleanup could reach a replacement with the same logical identity. Retain compatible receivers, keep recovery on the committed route, and validate physical ownership through final control delivery. SFU activation waits for the existing retirement barrier. This phase also consumes renewed same-page invitations through the existing grant owner and avoids closing uninitialized Windows capture objects after preview failure. The complete suite was rerun with two workers and a 15-second test deadline. ## Impact / 影响 Planned version: v1.5.6. Existing public wire versions and configuration are retained. Receiver reuse is capability-negotiated: old Apps receive no new request field, and old pages receive no new answer field. Room authority, routing policy and retry budgets are unchanged. The established-viewing interruption report still lacks paired diagnostics; these reproduced defects do not establish that reporter's exact cause. Physical device/network endurance remains outside local deterministic acceptance. Git/PRs retain this repair history; the TODO ledger retains outstanding reports and separate feature candidates. |

fix(app,ui): polish handoff links and mobile playback controls
## Problem and outcome The App console could show a launch address that still contained private activation data when copied, while the terminal hyperlink opened a cleaned address. On narrow phones, playback controls could wrap into a second row and cover too much of the video. fix(routing): recover failed connections across route transitions
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 An active media connection could fail while a replacement was being prepared, but its failure report was suppressed or attributed to the pending route. Separately, a room revision advanced by another Viewer could invalidate a delayed failure report for a connection that was still current, leaving playback stalled after the browser had already reported the failure. Failure reporting now follows committed connection ownership. P2P and SFU reports carry the existing physical connection identity; the server accepts a delayed active failure only while that connection and its endpoint session still match. Preparation reports retain their exact operation checks, and stale connections, stale sessions and future revisions remain rejected. The previously reproduced stall recovered automatically with one failure report; process, profile and port cleanup passed. - The embedded SFU H.264 simulcast gate passed with decoded video and audio, a live 720p to 480p profile change, and publication retirement. - Focused regressions cover Host/Viewer and P2P/SFU report ownership, retired connections, wrong identities, stale sessions and future revisions. Documentation and repository hygiene checks passed. These results do not establish the original reporter's specific cause. Physical Native capture, representative public networks and long-duration recovery remain outside this local acceptance. ## Impact / 影响 Patch release: **v1.5.3**. No wire, configuration or storage format changes; existing published message handlers remain compatible. The routing contract owns the updated failure-report rule, and TODO retains the outstanding reporter/device evidence boundaries. |

fix(routing): retain connected candidates during delayed viewer feedback
When Viewer progress and first-frame confirmations are delayed, an already connected P2P candidate can be discarded at the five-second scheduling boundary if another candidate is available. This can turn a working initial connection into another connection attempt. Host and relay parents now report transport progress through the existing room router. The router checks the exact participant/session, revision and connection; only the candidate Viewer can confirm first-frame readiness. The total operation deadline and the routing algorithm are unchanged. Browser and Native senders use their existing prepared-child owners, and discarded preparations cannot report progress. The loopback benchmark now identifies Peer and SFU connections from room signaling, excluding local codec probes and encoding-pool transports from media-edge counts. Its optional old Viewer-only quality canary remains unsuitable for the current sender-owned quality contract and is recorded in TODO. Validation: - `npm run check`: type checks, 1,000 tests and production Web build passed. - `npm run check:go-core`: formatting, Go tests, vet and supported Windows/Linux builds passed; Darwin capture remains a native-runner check. - Documentation and project-state checks passed. - Released v1.5.0 versus this candidate, delaying Viewer transport/ready feedback by six seconds: the old candidate connection closed after the scheduling boundary despite 79 decoded frames; the fixed connection stayed intact. Browser Host, Native Host and relay-parent paths were exercised, with another Viewer continuing to play. - Three-Viewer loopback topology and relay-departure recovery passed; Host and relay copy limits remained valid. - Actual App public-link signaling, with isolated 1/8/20-second packet loss on one Browser Viewer: playback recovered in all three cases and the control Viewer continued. Every test process, port and isolated profile was cleaned up. The original reporter's browser/network and paired diagnostics are unavailable. ## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Windows App users can now choose whether to show the capture border. The same border owner handles source previews and active capture; unsupported or denied requests keep normal capture available. The source picker distinguishes an absent/incompatible App, unavailable capture capability, failed enumeration and a genuinely empty list. Chrome's pending local-access permission no longer holds optional Viewer reception. This phase also reduces tooltip obstruction and contains a failed Linux encoder output within its own branch. Browser/server v23, Native control v9 and capture v7 remain compatible. Publication was skipped. - Local Windows ZIP passed packaged startup, capture probing, embedded Web, helper identity/notices and clean-shutdown checks. - Windows H.264 and VP8 Host gates passed live/paused settings, background recovery, source replacement, source-end/restart, decoded Viewer frames and complete resource cleanup. - Final `0b370e6a` differs from the CI candidate only in TODO/status closure. Full Web/Go/native checks and website build passed again. The access/privacy gate passed credential-leak and cleanup checks. ## Impact / 影响 Compatible feature update for **v1.5.0**. No wire or storage version change. Older Apps retain their existing capture behavior through capability negotiation. Publication and matching deployments follow the release workflow. The independent Windows x86 experiment is excluded. Physical 32-bit Windows, macOS/Linux capture, unsupported Windows border control, and actual border-permission denial remain outside this candidate's acceptance evidence. The original missing-window, public-link timeout and URL-handler crash reports still need affected-machine diagnostics. |

feat: improve feedback and App lifecycle reliability (#404)
Waiting feedback and tooltips now share consistent presentation lifecycles, while App shutdown and native-media operation failures stay within their owning session or output. This phase also consolidates the project standards and publishes searchable English/Chinese reader documentation alongside the homepage. Validation: repository hygiene and Markdown links; TypeScript, 971 Web tests and production build; website/documentation build; Go tests, vet and Windows/Linux builds with Windows capture checks; desktop/mobile UI and documentation review. Linux race, container and three-platform packaging checks run in the release pipeline. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader network coverage remain outside this acceptance. The owner approved v1.4.0 publication. Existing empty-source, Windows URL-handler and public-invitation timeout reports remain tracked; this release makes no claim to resolve those device/network reports. Tooltips point more accurately to their controls and interfere less with the player, with consistent meanings across illustrations, icons and copy. - A new English/Chinese documentation center includes search, mobile navigation, usage guides, troubleshooting and self-hosting. The homepage FAQ covers questions before getting started and links to the documentation for detailed help. #### Fixes - Starting with `--local` no longer clears a saved Piik site address. - Opening the system browser no longer blocks App shutdown. Temporary public invitations, the terminal and diagnostic exports handle cleanup and exit errors more consistently. - An operation failure on one native media connection no longer becomes a protocol failure for the entire session. Repeated stop-sharing requests are safe. - Fixed cleanup cases during connection replacement, relay shutdown and unexpected exits, preventing late results from affecting the current connection. - On Windows, an encoder failure for one native output stops that output only. A failure of the shared capture source still ends sharing. #### Updating and known limits Protocol versions and configuration formats are unchanged. After updating the App or your self-hosted Server, reopen the page to use its updated interface. Empty source lists on some devices, Windows browser-launch failures and Linux output-failure isolation remain under investigation. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader public-network coverage still need device testing; this update does not claim to resolve those cases or guarantee a direct connection on every network. |

fix: improve sharing recovery and UI feedback
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Browser sharing can remain connected to a local encoding transport that never becomes usable, leaving viewers without frames. This phase bounds that startup at eight seconds and restores ordinary encoding through the existing failure path. It also keeps ready App services running after a browser-open failure, preserves user presentation/playback choices, and aligns room feedback, illustrated hints, metrics and documentation. 部分环境下，本机编码连接一直无法建立会让观众收不到画面。本轮在八秒后进入现有降级流程，同时修复客户端启动移交、播放状态和前端反馈的一致性问题，并更新官网与中英文教程。 Closes #399. Subsequent commits only update deployment documentation, status and TODO; documentation/hygiene checks passed. Product inputs are unchanged. - `npm run check`: TypeScript, 64 test files / 854 tests, and the Web production build passed. - `npm run check:client-core`: final Go source passed tests, formatting, vet and core target builds. Windows capture compilation and geometry checks passed earlier in this phase; later edits did not change native capture. - Website build, documentation checks, repository hygiene and diff checks passed. Existing documentation-size and bundle-size warnings remain. - Actual browser flows covered sharing, source changes, pause/resume, late audio, brief signaling loss, invitation/copy feedback, entry preferences, source-picker focus, and narrow layouts. - A local three-viewer P2P relay check covered quality-report expiry, recovery and cleanup without interrupting video. A controlled browser-helper failure returning `0xc0000005` left the real App launcher and Local service available. - Homepage checks covered Chinese/English, light/dark preferences and inline-film open/close after removing the separate-page entry. Limits: no new reporter-machine confirmation for #396 or the Windows URL-handler crash; physical Safari/mobile, macOS/Linux capture and wider public-network/endurance coverage remain deferred. ## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果 Self-hosting currently requires assembling a Server installation, while App port mappings can use the wrong external port or remain active after cancellation. This phase adds a verified Linux x64 Server image and Compose recipe, and repairs the existing NAT-PMP dependencies so mapping results, cancellation and cleanup follow the gateway response and request lifetime. The image wraps the exact verified Server archive and is tested before publication. Version tags retain their original image; `latest` follows the latest published GitHub release. The two scoped dependency replacements retain upstream source, tests and licenses, with their removal criteria documented in `internal/thirdparty/README.md`. These pages now share the same illustrated scenes with localized explanations. Help-only indicators use native buttons and the shared Tooltip owner for click/tap, hover, keyboard and dismissal; action controls retain their actions and long-press guidance. The App preselects public invitations when no Site is saved, while retaining a saved Site's priority. Launcher metadata and its consumer agree on the existing link mode. fix(app): preserve passwords during Local startup
Local App startup saved passwords such as `好` or `a+b` correctly and started the service, but the launcher encoded its URL fragment twice. The browser then submitted a different password and stopped at the site-access screen. Both App launch URL paths now read the escaped fragment and serialize its query parameters once. This phase accepts site passwords verbatim, combines shared illustrations with localized captions in tooltips and stage overlays, and adds desktop single-click play/pause and double-click fullscreen through the existing playback owner. Pure-visual mode remains available. App ZIP names are now stable per platform, allowing the website to use GitHub's native latest-download URLs. The App update link selects the ZIP matching its compiled OS and architecture from the checked release metadata, falling back to the release page if the package is unavailable. Verified Gitee links retain their explicit release version. feat: launch Piik with a unified interface and public website
Piik now has one public presentation and a coordinated App/Server release path. This phase unifies the room UI, rewrites the bilingual README and guides, adds a static website with an inline product film, and prepares matching GitHub/Gitee packages and update links. The film uses the current homepage and shared product controls on one seekable timeline. Runtime fixes preserve presentation when the App opens a room, normalize Site origins, and keep capture and media-recovery status in the television indicator. New visits use Chinese for a Chinese system language and English otherwise; explicit language and visual-mode choices remain available. An optional site passphrase controls site entry, while room authorization remains enforced. GitHub is the release authority. Gitee mirrors verified packages and provides update metadata when GitHub is unavailable. Reviewed PR release notes become the GitHub Release description. The separate public demo uses P2P only, with HTTPS and STUN verified. Validation: 756 Web tests, TypeScript and production build; Go core tests, formatting, vet and available target builds; bounded Windows capture and App/Site interoperability; browser film checks, audible playback and narrow layouts; anonymous Gitee Windows-package download, checksum and launcher/update-link checks. Public demo acceptance covers authenticated WebSocket signaling, synthetic P2P video and room cleanup on one network. macOS/Linux physical capture and the wider device/network/endurance matrix remain explicitly deferred. Publication builds every package from the merged source SHA. The repository is public, main protection is active, and Pages is configured for piik.tv. feat: rename product and runtime to Piik
Rename the active product, Go module, binaries, configuration, protocols and documentation to Piik while retaining the TV mascot and existing media/room behavior. Use one current private contract without old-name aliases. Preserve SQLite authority and copy compatible local settings once; other settings start fresh. Git-message cleanup and the infrastructure name cutover are coordinated with this phase, with original history and deployment data archived externally. Validated locally with Web and Go checks, Windows capture compilation, matched Client/Server builds, packaged Client control handshake and history-rewrite integrity checks.
