Windows App users can now choose whether to show the capture border. The same border owner handles source previews and active capture; unsupported or denied requests keep normal capture available. The source picker distinguishes an absent/incompatible App, unavailable capture capability, failed enumeration and a genuinely empty list. Chrome's pending local-access permission no longer holds optional Viewer reception.
This phase also reduces tooltip obstruction and contains a failed Linux encoder output within its own branch. Browser/server v23, Native control v9 and capture v7 remain compatible. Closes#401.

使用新的采集边框开关，请更新 Windows App 并刷新已打开的网页。Windows 10 没有对应的系统接口，边框仍由系统显示；文档中心提供可选处理方法。系统权限或其他采集会话也可能要求保留边框。

This sharing update improves Windows capture borders, App source selection and tooltips, and fixes failure isolation between Linux capture outputs.
- **Choose whether to show the capture border.** The Windows App source picker adds a **Show capture border** switch to the left of audio, off by default. Source previews also hide the border on supported systems.
- **Clearer source-selection feedback.** The picker distinguishes an unavailable or incompatible App, unsupported capture and a failed source list. Refresh after granting access to retry. Pending local-access permission in Chrome no longer delays Browser reception for Viewers.
- **Less intrusive tooltips.** A consistent 500 ms hover delay, improved placement and touch-hold behavior make guidance easier to read and dismiss. Help-only controls use the ordinary cursor.
- **More resilient Linux sharing.** A failed encoder output no longer interrupts healthy sibling outputs.
- **More useful troubleshooting.** The documentation covers App source lists, Windows 10 capture borders and browser WebRTC settings.
Update the Windows App and refresh open pages to use the capture-border switch. Windows 10 lacks the corresponding system API and retains its system border; an optional procedure is available in the documentation center. System permission or another capture session may also require the border to remain visible.

- Windows 11 border on/off, source preview and concurrent-capture checks have physical evidence. Tooltip hover, keyboard, touch-hold, dismissal and narrow-layout checks passed.
- [Candidate CI](https://github.com/TNTcraftHIM/Piik/actions/runs/35157993032) passed at `1d159831`: Server/container, Windows/Linux/macOS packages, Go race checks and frontend validation. Publication was skipped.
- Local Windows ZIP passed packaged startup, capture probing, embedded Web, helper identity/notices and clean-shutdown checks.
- Windows H.264 and VP8 Host gates passed live/paused settings, background recovery, source replacement, source-end/restart, decoded Viewer frames and complete resource cleanup.
- Final `0b370e6a` differs from the CI candidate only in TODO/status closure. Full Web/Go/native checks and website build passed again. The access/privacy gate passed credential-leak and cleanup checks.
## Impact / 影响
Compatible feature update for **v1.5.0**. No wire or storage version change. Older Apps retain their existing capture behavior through capability negotiation. Publication and matching deployments follow the release workflow.
The independent Windows x86 experiment is excluded. Physical 32-bit Windows, macOS/Linux capture, unsupported Windows border control, and actual border-permission denial remain outside this candidate's acceptance evidence. The original missing-window, public-link timeout and URL-handler crash reports still need affected-machine diagnostics.
Waiting feedback and tooltips now share consistent presentation lifecycles, while App shutdown and native-media operation failures stay within their owning session or output. This phase also consolidates the project standards and publishes searchable English/Chinese reader documentation alongside the homepage.
Validation: repository hygiene and Markdown links; TypeScript, 971 Web tests and production build; website/documentation build; Go tests, vet and Windows/Linux builds with Windows capture checks; desktop/mobile UI and documentation review. Linux race, container and three-platform packaging checks run in the release pipeline. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader network coverage remain outside this acceptance.
The owner approved v1.4.0 publication. Existing empty-source, Windows URL-handler and public-invitation timeout reports remain tracked; this release makes no claim to resolve those device/network reports. The Windows capture-border request is next-phase work.

#### 升级与已知边界

This feature update focuses on stability and consistent feedback. Waiting states are easier to follow, App startup and native sharing handle several failure cases more reliably, and the new documentation center brings usage and deployment guides together.
#### New and improved
- Welcome lines, waiting captions and six groups of rotating tab titles follow one presentation lifecycle. Waiting captions appear immediately and rotate while visible; actionable errors and instructions remain fixed.
- Room-admission comics use restrained characters and looping motion. Tooltips point more accurately to their controls and interfere less with the player, with consistent meanings across illustrations, icons and copy.
- A new English/Chinese documentation center includes search, mobile navigation, usage guides, troubleshooting and self-hosting. The homepage FAQ covers questions before getting started and links to the documentation for detailed help.
#### Fixes
- Starting with `--local` no longer clears a saved Piik site address.
- Opening the system browser no longer blocks App shutdown. Temporary public invitations, the terminal and diagnostic exports handle cleanup and exit errors more consistently.
- An operation failure on one native media connection no longer becomes a protocol failure for the entire session. Repeated stop-sharing requests are safe.
- Fixed cleanup cases during connection replacement, relay shutdown and unexpected exits, preventing late results from affecting the current connection.
- On Windows, an encoder failure for one native output stops that output only. A failure of the shared capture source still ends sharing.
#### Updating and known limits
Protocol versions and configuration formats are unchanged. After updating the App or your self-hosted Server, reopen the page to use its updated interface.
Empty source lists on some devices, Windows browser-launch failures and Linux output-failure isolation remain under investigation. Physical macOS/Linux capture and broader public-network coverage still need device testing; this update does not claim to resolve those cases or guarantee a direct connection on every network.
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果
Browser sharing can remain connected to a local encoding transport that never becomes usable, leaving viewers without frames. This phase bounds that startup at eight seconds and restores ordinary encoding through the existing failure path. It also keeps ready App services running after a browser-open failure, preserves user presentation/playback choices, and aligns room feedback, illustrated hints, metrics and documentation.
部分环境下，本机编码连接一直无法建立会让观众收不到画面。本轮在八秒后进入现有降级流程，同时修复客户端启动移交、播放状态和前端反馈的一致性问题，并更新官网与中英文教程。

Related: #396. The release contains relevant startup/error-handling repairs, but the reporting machine has not been retested. Keep this issue open for a current-build result. #401 (optional Windows capture-border hiding) remains deferred.

- Keep the App running if the system browser fails to open, with the page address, retry action and error details available in the terminal.
- Improve the browser sharing startup fallback and avoid treating brief signaling outages as App media failures.
- Keep existing video and local pause state when audio tracks change. Reconnecting and resuming no longer replay the television startup animation over the picture.
- Fix nickname editing and full-name access, remove redundant role hints, and distinguish participant selection from connection state.

Compatibility: when an older App connects to an updated Site, the Site keeps its saved presentation preferences. Change language or theme on the destination page when using an older launcher.
## Verification / 验证
Non-publishing [CI candidate run 34919320511](https://github.com/TNTcraftHIM/Piik/actions/runs/34919320511) passed Go core, race, Web checks, Server/container verification and all three native App package checks at source 188376e8. Subsequent commits only update deployment documentation, status and TODO; documentation/hygiene checks passed. Product inputs are unchanged.
- `npm run check`: TypeScript, 64 test files / 854 tests, and the Web production build passed.
- `npm run check:client-core`: final Go source passed tests, formatting, vet and core target builds. Windows capture compilation and geometry checks passed earlier in this phase; later edits did not change native capture.
- Website build, documentation checks, repository hygiene and diff checks passed. Existing documentation-size and bundle-size warnings remain.
- Actual browser flows covered sharing, source changes, pause/resume, late audio, brief signaling loss, invitation/copy feedback, entry preferences, source-picker focus, and narrow layouts.
- A local three-viewer P2P relay check covered quality-report expiry, recovery and cleanup without interrupting video. A controlled browser-helper failure returning `0xc0000005` left the real App launcher and Local service available.
- Homepage checks covered Chinese/English, light/dark preferences and inline-film open/close after removing the separate-page entry.
Limits: no new reporter-machine confirmation for #396 or the Windows URL-handler crash; physical Safari/mobile, macOS/Linux capture and wider public-network/endurance coverage remain deferred. Formal release artifacts will be built from the approved squash-merge revision. Hero-loop controls and video-adjacent tooltip placement remain open design items in TODO.
## Impact / 影响
Compatible patch; signaling, Native control and capture contracts are unchanged. Older App launch handoff keeps the updated Site's saved presentation preferences. The Server's default viewer limit is corrected to 20; an explicit 1–20 configuration remains valid.
Service updates retain persisted room authority but restart active media sessions. Deploy the verified immutable Server artifact through the existing bounded health/recovery process. Public Demo remains open and P2P-only; deployment does not enable SFU or change infrastructure/configuration.

Restore explicit GitHub and Gitee labels on every platform download card while keeping each provider's native latest-download URL. Identify the Linux Server archive by its actual release filename in both READMEs and self-hosting guides, and record the remaining maintenance reports in TODO.

## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果
Self-hosting currently requires assembling a Server installation, while App port mappings can use the wrong external port or remain active after cancellation. This phase adds a verified Linux x64 Server image and Compose recipe, and repairs the existing NAT-PMP dependencies so mapping results, cancellation and cleanup follow the gateway response and request lifetime.
The image wraps the exact verified Server archive and is tested before publication. Version tags retain their original image; `latest` follows the latest published GitHub release. The two scoped dependency replacements retain upstream source, tests and licenses, with their removal criteria documented in `internal/thirdparty/README.md`.
Planned release: **v1.3.0** (compatible Docker distribution feature plus NAT fixes).

Existing configuration and room data formats remain compatible; no migration is required.

The publishing pipeline reruns the image checks for the merged release revision. First publication also requires making the GHCR package public and checking anonymous pulls of its version and `latest` tags. Representative physical routers, public-media networks and operator-specific HTTPS/firewall settings remain outside the container smoke test.
## Impact / 影响
No signaling, native-control or storage-format change. Existing App/Server installations remain compatible. Docker supports `linux/amd64` in this phase; its default is P2P, and SFU remains an explicit deployment option. Existing deployments keep their configuration.
README, bilingual self-hosting guides, container maintenance, versioning, dependency provenance and NAT evidence are updated. Completed feedback is removed from TODO; ongoing network evidence remains tracked there.
Both platform download routes now follow the provider's native latest
attachment: GitHub uses `releases/latest/download/…` and Gitee uses
`releases/download/latest/…`. Publishing a mirrored package no longer
requires rebuilding the website to refresh a version-specific URL.
Remove the build-time release API calls, metadata adapter and its
obsolete tests.
The main buttons read “Download” / “下载”, with “Download via Gitee” /
“Gitee 备用下载” for the alternative. The film's homepage demonstration
inherits the same links and copy. The website guide documents the routes
and the possible delay between primary publication and mirror
completion.
Validation: website build and TypeScript checks; six generated latest
links checked in the homepage and film demonstration; all three real
Gitee latest downloads matched the GitHub package sizes and SHA-256
checksums. The release planner reports `publish: false`.

Machines with several local addresses could fail before opening Piik, and startup or connection failures were difficult to diagnose. This phase adds Local invitation-address selection and accessible diagnostics, preserves useful startup errors, and repairs media preparation and recovery without changing room authority or routing policy. It also aligns language handling, playback, public downloads and contributor documentation with the resulting behavior.

- **Choose how to start on machines with multiple network addresses.** Local rooms show interface names and invitation addresses when a choice is needed. Public invitations and connections to an existing Site no longer fail because several LAN addresses are available.
- **Diagnose startup and connection problems more easily.** The launcher now offers Debug launch for both App and browser diagnostics, alongside a separate browser diagnostics control. Startup failures include their cause and retry guidance; Windows errors remain visible for confirmation after a double-click launch. Failed exits in diagnostic mode save a report. Exported ZIPs remain available until you move or delete them.
- **Remove unnecessary connection setup waits.** Ordinary candidate discovery no longer waits for optional gateway mapping. Fixes cover stale candidates and completion signals during ICE restarts, and feedback from failed connection preparation. Native media can use direct IPv6 connections where available while retaining IPv4 paths.
- **Keep sharing recovery aligned with the current source and settings.** Source changes count new frames for startup protection, SFU recovery uses the latest quality preferences, and one failed answer submission no longer disables Native receiving for the entire session. Duplicate password-error feedback has also been removed.
- **Improve playback and fullscreen interaction.** Safari native fullscreen now synchronizes playback, volume and exit state. Interactive video surfaces show a pointer cursor.
- **Align language selection and community translation guidance.** Simplified and Traditional Chinese system locales select Simplified Chinese; other systems default to English. Chinese, English and visual-mode shortcuts remain, with bilingual translation guides and a registration path for additional languages.
- **Simplify release downloads and refresh the website.** Release attachments contain the three App ZIPs and the Server runtime archive; source identity and checksums appear in a collapsed section of the release notes. The website keeps its embedded introduction and adds a standalone viewing link, with updated setup, download and operations guidance.
**Upgrading:** Extract the complete App ZIP for your platform and keep its directory structure. Follow the deployment guide for Server upgrades, preserving existing configuration and SQLite data. Existing wire contracts and storage formats are unchanged.
**Test coverage:** Windows App and desktop browsers are the primary validated paths. Physical macOS/Linux capture, broader mobile coverage and IPv6 across separate public networks remain open; testing and feedback are welcome.

- `npm run check`: PASS, including TypeScript, 807 tests in 60 files and the production Web build.
- `npm run check:client`: PASS on Windows, including Go formatting/tests/vet, Windows/Linux core builds and native Windows capture compile/probe. Darwin requires the native macOS CI runner.
- `npm run gate:client-media`: PASS with Chrome 152 and a real captured test window on Windows. Two receivers obtained video and audio; live and paused profile changes, recovery frames and cleanup passed. This is a single-machine test, not a public-NAT success-rate measurement.
- `npm run gate:client-link`: PASS using the newly packaged Windows App. A separate remote machine fetched its temporary public page and completed the WebSocket upgrade; App exit closed the link and cleanup passed.
- Server runtime and Windows App candidate packaging: PASS, including archive identity/checksums and execution from the extracted App ZIP. Native Linux/macOS package checks still run in the publishing pipeline before publication.
- `node scripts/check-docs.mjs`, `scripts/check-project-state.ps1`, `git diff --check` and `npm run build:website`: PASS. Seven documentation-size gardening advisories and the existing Vite chunk-size advisory remain non-blocking.
- Browser review: English/Chinese website setup and direct-download links, narrow layout and diagnostics/language controls checked. Native popover accessibility correctly exposes expanded/collapsed state without a duplicate attribute owner.
- Independent audit found no P0/P1/P2 issues; focused race checks for portmapping and mediaedge passed. Diagnostic archive accumulation is retained by the owner's explicit choice. The currently unreachable language menu placement issue is a first-community-language prerequisite in TODO.
Physical macOS/Linux capture, broader mobile behavior, restricted-network/endurance coverage and cross-network Native IPv6 remain explicitly outside this candidate's evidence.
## Impact / 影响
Compatible feature release, planned as v1.2.0 from v1.1.2. Browser/server v23, Native control v9, capture v7 and SQLite schema 2 remain unchanged. No new telemetry service, retry policy or configuration requirement is introduced. Public Demo remains open-entry and P2P-only. NAT-PMP dependency corrections are explicitly deferred to the next release and are not claimed here.
The existing product, configuration, translation, research and operations owners were updated. Raw audits, handoffs, diagnostic logs and experimental sources are excluded from the PR.

television: a gamepad for the RPG, a paintbrush and palette for drawing,
a camera for photos, and a remote for the film. Small gestures and prop
visibility use the existing SVG activity timeline; the still image
retains the gamepad.
Both README languages reuse the same asset. This phase changes only the
standalone website, its generator/check, README descriptions and the
completed TODO entry.
Validation: website build and deterministic SVG check; 14 cut/loop
boundary samples, all four shared poses, still/reduced-motion and mobile
layout; TypeScript, 59 test files / 776 tests, production Web build and
repository hygiene.
Some room-entry failures still replaced the existing comics with standalone icons in Chinese and English, and status help required a touch hold. These pages now share the same illustrated scenes with localized explanations. Help-only indicators use native buttons and the shared Tooltip owner for click/tap, hover, keyboard and dismissal; action controls retain their actions and long-press guidance.
The App preselects public invitations when no Site is saved, while retaining a saved Site's priority. Launcher metadata and its consumer agree on the existing link mode. The release guide now requires explicit owner approval of each planned version and complete notes before publication.

- 46 overlay combinations passed across Chinese, English, pure-visual mode and 260/390/1280px, including keyboard playback and reduced motion.
- A real local Server returned the missing-room state correctly in all three modes. Status-control accessibility checks, documentation and repository hygiene passed.
Compatible patch. No signaling, native-control, capture or storage contract changes. Existing physical device/network deferrals remain in force.
## Problem and outcome / 问题与结果
App startup rejected short or non-ASCII site passwords, viewers lacked picture-click playback gestures, and text-mode hints hid the existing illustrations. This phase accepts site passwords verbatim, combines shared illustrations with localized captions in tooltips and stage overlays, and adds desktop single-click play/pause and double-click fullscreen through the existing playback owner. Pure-visual mode remains available.
App ZIP names are now stable per platform, allowing the website to use GitHub's native latest-download URLs. The App update link selects the ZIP matching its compiled OS and architecture from the checked release metadata, falling back to the release page if the package is unavailable. Verified Gitee links retain their explicit release version. The Windows packaging workflow also stops restoring a redundant Go toolchain cache that caused setup-go to fail.

- Bounded release review confirmed JSON password authentication retains old bodyless Bearer compatibility and ZIP names match packaging, publisher, mirror and website consumers.
- After checking both providers' real API shapes, 27 focused update tests and type-checking passed; anonymous GitHub and Gitee metadata each selected all three actual platform ZIPs without downloading them.
- Documentation, repository hygiene and diff checks passed.
## Impact / 影响
Compatible feature release. Signaling, Native control, capture protocol and persistent room schema are unchanged. The new latest-download filenames must be published before the matching website deploys; the existing CI-to-Website sequence provides that order. Production service updates use the immutable Server artifact and bounded rollback. Broader physical macOS/Linux, network and endurance acceptance stays under the existing documented deferrals.
## Problem and outcome
App downloads used tar.gz archives, which are less convenient to open
with desktop file managers. Windows, macOS and Linux App packages now
ship as ZIP files. Packaging extracts the completed ZIP and runs the
existing runtime checks against those extracted files, covering the
actual distributed package.
The website links directly to the published ZIP for each platform, with
an explicitly labeled GitHub primary download and matching Gitee
alternative. Server deployment archives retain their existing format.

## Problem and outcome
Website visitors can download the usual Windows x64, macOS Apple silicon
and Linux x64 App packages directly from clearly labeled platform cards.
Each card includes a verified Gitee alternative, with shared setup
guidance and a More downloads link for the full release list. The
homepage reuses the application's 20 bilingual greetings, and the sample
game no longer displays an invented title.
Website builds resolve links from the latest published GitHub release
and validate matching mirror assets. Website deployment follows main CI
so newly published packages reach the next site build. Version selection
and release notes now share a product-change filter: standalone website,
documentation and maintenance changes do not create App/Server releases
or affect the next product version.
## Verification
- `npm run check`: 57 test files / 759 tests, TypeScript and product
production build passed.
- Website build passed with real GitHub/Gitee v1.0.0 metadata and with
the explicit local fallback.
- English and Chinese browser checks at 390px and 1440px passed:
platform links, More downloads, greeting selection and language

## Impact
GitHub remains the version authority; Gitee is a download mirror.
Unavailable mirror metadata falls back to its release page. Product
runtime behavior and package compatibility are unchanged. Physical
macOS/Linux capture and broader device/network limits remain documented.
Piik now has one public presentation and a coordinated App/Server release path. This phase unifies the room UI, rewrites the bilingual README and guides, adds a static website with an inline product film, and prepares matching GitHub/Gitee packages and update links.
The film uses the current homepage and shared product controls on one seekable timeline. Runtime fixes preserve presentation when the App opens a room, normalize Site origins, and keep capture and media-recovery status in the television indicator. New visits use Chinese for a Chinese system language and English otherwise; explicit language and visual-mode choices remain available. An optional site passphrase controls site entry, while room authorization remains enforced.
GitHub is the release authority. Gitee mirrors verified packages and provides update metadata when GitHub is unavailable. Reviewed PR release notes become the GitHub Release description. The separate public demo uses P2P only, with HTTPS and STUN verified.
Validation: 756 Web tests, TypeScript and production build; Go core tests, formatting, vet and available target builds; bounded Windows capture and App/Site interoperability; browser film checks, audible playback and narrow layouts; anonymous Gitee Windows-package download, checksum and launcher/update-link checks. Public demo acceptance covers authenticated WebSocket signaling, synthetic P2P video and room cleanup on one network. macOS/Linux physical capture and the wider device/network/endurance matrix remain explicitly deferred.
Publication builds every package from the merged source SHA. The repository is public, main protection is active, and Pages is configured for piik.tv. CI/publisher and Pages deployment records own publication results.

Windows App and desktop browsers are the primary validated paths. macOS and Linux have not yet been tested on physical devices; testing and feedback are welcome. The demo and App public invitations rely on P2P and may not connect on restrictive networks. Self-hosted sites can enable media forwarding.
Rename the active product, Go module, binaries, configuration, protocols and documentation to Piik while retaining the TV mascot and existing media/room behavior.
Use one current private contract without old-name aliases. Preserve SQLite authority and copy compatible local settings once; other settings start fresh. Git-message cleanup and the infrastructure name cutover are coordinated with this phase, with original history and deployment data archived externally.
Validated locally with Web and Go checks, Windows capture compilation, matched Client/Server builds, packaged Client control handshake and history-rewrite integrity checks. Skip duplicate hosted CI for this owner-authorized local release.
